camaro has no heat
its that time of the year when the temps drop, and 2 years later.. was curious to why my heater wont work in my 86 camaro. i've replaced the blower motor resistor, the blower motor, the switch, and the relay and it still wont turn on. sounds like wiring somewhere. any help would be appreciated.

If it has no fan:
Pull the control head out of the dash. You will find a harness with several wires that go one way (tan, green, blue, etc.) and one single dark brown wire that goes another way. This is the wire that brings power from the car into the entire HVAC system. Follow that brown wire up into the dash about 12 - 18". You will eventually come to a connector of an unbelievably stupid design. Inspect it carefully. Attempt to unplug it. Observe that it is completley burnt to ash and has no nope whatsoever of ever working again. Cut it off of both ends of the wire, and replace with the BIG FAT YELLOW slide terminals. Not, the little weenie ordinary ones that happen to have yellow barrels; I'm talking about the BIG FAT ones. Use insulated ones if possible.

*update* tore the heater console out, found the plug as stated, didn't look to bad however I replaced it. Heater still doesn't work.

Re: camaro has no heat
took the mulitmeter out and hooked it to the power wire going the blower motor, it reads 14.7 volts so it is getting power.

Re: camaro has no heat
OK, check the voltage on the wires at the relay.
Relay has 2 wires that go to the coil; one is ground, one comes from the switch and has 12V on it in "High" only. Then there's 3 wires that go to the contacts; one is purple, and goes to the blower motor; one is red, and comes from the batt, and is only active; and the 3rd, can't recall what color it is, comes from the resistor assy.
Key on, engine off, fan one nothc below "High" setting: should be around 10V at the one coming from the resistors, the same going to the blower motor, and batt voltage on the red one.
Same, except on "High": relay should click, no voltage on wire from resistors, still batt on the red one, now batt on the purple one as well.
Let us know what you found.
