Iroc-Z Door Decal Colors?
I have an 88 Iroc in burnt orange , it has been repainted its factory color. My question is should the proper IROC-Z door decals be a light orange/red so they almost get "lost" in the paint, or should the decal be black/silver???

Black plastic and carpet with gray seats. The reason i ask is all the orange irocs i see seem to have the gold package i.e. the gold rims with gold stripe and decal kit.

Like Tom3 said,
If you got grey seats from the factory, then youd have the silver iroc decals...
same thing goes for the wheels. Silver with silver, and gold with gold...
If they have gold trim more than likely they have a gold/brown interior or maybe even red.. Just a good rule of thumb but its not in stone. Look under your console lid to find your options sticker ect.

Re: Iroc-Z Door Decal Colors?
Ill check it out, the car has been repainted so i was just wondering if they put the correct decals back on it. I do have the silver wheels. The iroc decals that are on the car are an orange/red so its difficult to see , not enough contrast

Re: Iroc-Z Door Decal Colors?
id say if your current IROC-Z sticker is too hard to read (maybe might be after market?)
then go to pheonixgraphics http://phoenixgraphix.com/gm/8890iz.htm and pick you up some silver/gray ones.
Usually if it had silver wheels with grey interior then it more than likley had silver stripes
and silver door decals or possibly IROC delete. Educated guess anyway. Do you have RPO codes listed under your console lid? If you do, one of them or a few of them will be your stripe code or color which will tell us what color the stripes and IROC should be. Might be worth a try anway to see what else we can determine. Its your car. If you like the gold, then go gold. But I wouldn't do gold as it did not come from the factory that way for sure, it would also clash with the color of your wheels.

Re: Iroc-Z Door Decal Colors?
In my opinion it is a rare color. Wanted one in 88 as well. Fell in love with the color.
Its a shade different than the sunset orange that everyone has these days. I have even considered painting my copper vert to this color. Still up in the air about originality though.
Here are a couple if pics..some might be members on this site. I assume these are Burnt Orange Metallic anyway as the color is hard to photo graph.

You know, I was thinking...Since my vert is copper anway and the paint is 10 yrs old.. I was thinking paint the car burnt orange metallic like the second and third picture shown, throw on some Gold 16 Inch Iroc wheels from third gen ranch, (will match my gold top) and leave all the decals and stripes off...
Man that would be so SWEET on a vert!
You got me excited again.
I was thinking about a dark metallic blue, then I would be changing the colors and jambs.. But I If I do the burnt orange I can come back and door under hood jambs later on if I need to. Man you picked a great color! Post some pics of your ride!
