Need some pictures of Camaros with 19 inch wheels
I know there is a tread similar but couldn't find it.
Ok so I found the wheels I want but just need to know how 19s look on a third gen. A few people have said they are too big but I just want to check. I'm trying to build a pro tour or autocross style car not 100% for comp use just forchaving that style mainly. Really just want a nice looking car too. If you think the 19" wheels are going to effect the performance negatively please let me know.
Another thing is I'm afraid of rub between the tires and car, I have Eibach springs and didn't get struts yet and the springs will drop the car 1.7 in the front and 1.3" in the back. I plan on low profile tires for traction so that will help the clearence I hope.
If someone has a black camaro on black 19" wheels that would be an even bigger help. Otherwise any Camaro or Bird with 19s should do.
Thanks guys!

you should be fine with clearance even lowered, 19x8 with 245-35-19 rubber will clear fine, with no need to change speedo gear

You can run a 19" wheel is you want. There have been article showing that the lower aspect ratio of large diameter tires does affect the grip in performance driving. An 18" wheel will open more doors for selection of wheels, and cost... same with tires.
I would do a lot of research before running off and putting on a 19x8 wheel, and 245's... if you really are gonna autox it.

A 245-35-19 tire will not be any more competitive in autocross than a 245-40-18 or a 245-45-17 one.
Thirdgens as front heavy RWD platforms need a lot of tire under the corners to handle well on autocross - 275 is a good starting size, 285 or wider is better.
Keep in mind that a 19" wheel and tire combo will weigh more than a 17" or 18" equivalent and with a much stiffer sidewall (which will bump the effective spring rate way up).

I don't plan on really using it for competition use. Its just that style I really like both for the performance characteristics and looks. I plan on using more to travel long distances for example, I live in Pa and want to drive west to places in Texas and Arizona. I heard theres a great muscle car scene in those areas. So pro tour is more what I'm looking for.

19" is an oddball size for the most part, 18" and 20" are super popular with the PT crowd. That said, 19" and above have very small tire sidewalls and will be a problem with rutted northern roads, plus the ride will suffer.
That said, I would suggest a set of 18" wheels all around for both style and performance. An 18" x 9.5" wheel with a 275-35-18 tire is a huge step up from a 245-40-18 one in terms of visual impact and performance for virtually the same money.

That's a great looking Iroc. I think I know what I'm getting, pretty much settled on 19s. The car being lowered like that and wheels tucked under looks amazing. NufNuffZ28, what tire sizes are you using?
