My KITT wheel solution - 2nd Gen Turbo Wheels!
Purchased an '86 Firebird a few weeks back with the intention of driving and converting to sort of a "driver" KITT (external mods, but leave the interior stock)
I seriously hate the 80's Firebird wheels, and even though I'm doing a KITT "Tribute" car as a driver, I really wanted to get the original wheels since they are so distinctive. As everyone knows, however, those wheels are super expensive and hard to find even in bad shape.
Being a Pontiac fan (and a Firebird/TA fan) I noticed that the 3rd Gen Turbocast wheels look a LOT like late 2nd Gen Turbo TA wheels. So I wondered... what would they look like if I painted the centers black?
After a little photoshop work, I decided that not only would they pass to the casual observer, I think the actually look pretty good on their own.
I bought a set, had the centers painted black, the wheels clear coated... and here you go. I painted the center caps all black as well. I think they look great on the car, and will more then suffice as a KITT wheel until I can find a decent set of originals cheap. Curious what you all think...

Id go with painting them all a solid color but otherwise not a bad looking wheel at all!

I was trying to find a cheap way to get the KNIGHT RIDER look, without shelling out the big $$ for the real vintage turbocast wheels. That's why I only painted the centers...

Personally i hate the bowling ball look on the kitt cars (flame all you want). I actually like the look you have now better because of the dish. Looks great to me!
