Max tire size for original rims
Can someone tell me the max tire size in the rear for the original iroc rims? I had 265/50/16 and I would like to have 275. I assume thats the maximum. Does anyone know more?

Re: Max tire size for original rims
245 is the widest tire you should go on a 8" wide wheel and it is also the OEM size for the IROC. If you want a 275 width tire it needs a 9.5" wheel - which pretty much limits your options to a 17" x 9.5" wheel as a) no one makes a 275-45-16 tire and b) no one makes a 16" x 9.5" wheel for the 3rd gens.

Re: Max tire size for original rims
Yes I had 265 when I bought it and currently had to put 235/60 on it because I could get any other tire used or new but 265 fit fine. No big bulk neither. I cant find the forum but I read these days about a guy who had 275 on the stock rims and was running great apparently. So if I buy new tires I would go for 275 instead of 265 of course.

Re: Max tire size for original rims
Google didn't find squat for me in that size. I know there is still a road race tire in 265-45-16, but that won't work on the street...
You have really one choice for your stock IROC wheels - 245-50-16 <or> 255-50-16 tires (C4 Vette size), both are getting rare in performance patterns - but still available.

Re: Max tire size for original rims
Actually I remembered today I didnt had 265. I had 255/50.
I am looking forward to get those later on:

With 325 tires.

BF goodrich makes some nice ones in that size. I have the BFG 255/50r16 on the rear of my camaro. 245/50r16 on the front. i wouldn't go wider than that on stock wheels.
