So whats the biggest size we can go

I am interested in purchasing some 19x10 wheels but I am not sure if that will fit without any major modifcation.

Also how much modification would it take to fit 19x12?

Yes topic has been covered. 19x12 wont fit without minitub work and offset lca's. 10" wide will fit and you can fit a 305 tire no taller than 27.5". I run a 305/35/19 mickey drag radial and its tight fit with alot of hammering work to inner well.

The real question is what size tire do you want to run. You can fit a 19x12 without any modification with a stretched tire and lower offset. But I'm pretty sure 99% of the people on this site aren't that open minded.

Please dont. Stretched tires are the dumbest thing to hit the car scene and i dont care what ppl say, they dont seem safe to me

Re: So whats the biggest size we can go

Been doing a lot of research on this lately. Biggest you can go with the "Straight sidewall" look is about 10". Maybe 10.5" if your offset is perfect. Biggest rear tire without a lot of hammering (Assuming your wheel is just right.) is about 295/30/19.
I'm going with 19X8.5 front and 20X9.5 rear with 255's in the front and 295's in the rear. That's a lot of tire.
Jason.

After using google to see some images of stretched tires I have come to realize that I may not be as open minded as I thought lol...

Re: So whats the biggest size we can go

There is a guy on the board with an awesome black 90 iroc vert and he went through the rear tire project and his car is awesome. I think he posted a lot of great info on that if memory serves.

Re: So whats the biggest size we can go

Please don't confuse size (wheel diameter) with actual dimensions of the tire that rests upon the road. There is no difference in contact patch of a 245-50-16 sized tire and a 245-40-18 sized one in the same pattern - but there are differences in tire sidewall, weight, perceived spring rate, and handling & ride characteristics.
