Got a present from fed ex today!

Very happy with these. They are 18x8.5 and should bolt right up. I'll mount one up later this week. It's just too damn cold in the garage. Here is some eye candy.

Look good so far. What rubber are you putting on them? Got a link to where you ordered from?

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

I actually called in and spoke to a lady named Maria. I needed to verify that these were in this finish and actually available. She gave me a little bit of a discount and hooked it up with a box full of shirts / swag. I've always wanted my very own motegi racing trucker hat lol.

Nice looking wheels! Are they powder coated on the inside?

Yes, I believe them to be totally coated black and then the "polished" face is actually machined.

I am really interested to see how these look and fit your car as I have been looking at a wheel upgrade for sometime now, I think its either these or the 5th gen 20" but I think they may be just a little big, especially for the roads I travel.

We've had a bit of a cold snap in MI and my garage heater won't keep up too well. Once I get a decent day I'll mount one up and share pics! Being in way up north, i'm sure you know how it goes!

I'm not a big fan of 5th gen wheels on these cars. It honestly came down to ordering these replicas or going with some C4 ZR1 replicas. I think i made the right choice!

Yes I totally understand what you are going through, I don't know if I'm lucky or cursed to be able to see my car inside at work everyday, while I'm glad it's indoors and I can work on it whenever all I really want to do is roll it out and cruise.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

I'd have no problem taking it out in the cold, but in michigan they salt the roads and that destroys the cars around here. It's not uncommon to find a 5 year old car starting to rust.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

Yes I know all about that, they do that here too. Back when this was my daily driver I had studded winter tires on some Cheap aluminum rims for winter driving, it was nothing to be pushing snow drifts with it and passing regular cars. I don't think the weight of the car hurt in that situation

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

Snow tires do help! If truck tires weren't so expensive, i'd consider running a set on the rears of my silverado 2wd (daily driver). I used to have a 4x4, and over the 5 years I owned it, I used 4x4 twice.. That wasn't even in the winter! It was putting the boat in the lake. No complaints on the 2wd.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

I contacted the seller asking if the black paint could be replaced with a more stock looking grey colour. They said it would be an extra $125 per wheel for a custom paint colour. Ouch.

Also, they will not sell them unpainted.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

Well, so far I mounted up a wheel (oddly enough they didn't come with lug nuts) so i'm waiting on a set of black lugnuts to arrive. I didn't bother snapping a pic because it didn't do any justice without tires on the car. Lately I've been debating tire size. Pretty sure i'm leaning toward 245/40/18 out front and 275/35/18 in back.

Those wheel/tire size should keep the overall circumference about where I'm at now. I'm trying to avoid lowering the car too much.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

I am going with 245/40 front and 275/40 rear.

275/35 is a little shorter then the 245/40 and looks odd to me, plus I like a little sidewall on the rear.

Thanks everybody. I got them from west coast wheel factory. I've been saving for tires.

This time of the year is tough on the wallet. 2 birthdays and valentines day sets the man back a bit. I'm going with sumitomo htr z tires. Hoping that I don't have to slam the car too much.

I have those same wheels on my car wrapped in 245 rubber, fits perfect. I used my factory lug nuts with the threaded black plastic caps over them, it's the perfect look.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

Big props.

I'll be heading over to belle tire today to order my tires. I'll put up pics when I get them on. Then it'll be time to slam it.

I don't have the oem lug nuts. The car came with some cragars on it. Ideally, I'd like to get rid of everything that had to do with those boat anchors. Good wheels for a shoebox, but not the 80s era cars IMO.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

Original springs that probably have sagged some. I would guess drop springs would not affect the ride height much.

Re: Got a present from fed ex today!

Got the wheels and tires mounted up over the weekend. Have a look!

245/40/18 out front with 275/35/18 rear. Sumitomo htr z iii tires all around. I like the wheels / tires but i'm not happy with the stance. I'm fairly certain the PO lowered the front end, but it's not enough for my liking. I'd like to go down about 1.5 inches all around.

The sig pic is a photoshop that a TGO member made for me when I was trying to figure out what wheels to go with. The sig pic was based on the wheels that i purchased. Anyhow, that's the look i'm trying to get!

They look nice on there, but I agree it needs to come down to earth a little more

What springs is it running?
