Larger cross lace rims

I used to hate the look of the GTA cross lace rims. But after seeing ten in red and black I have grown on them and now they look amazing.

Is there any place that sells larger rims like this? I'm lookin to do a 17/18, 17/19 or 18/19 set up with wider back tires.

Thanks

Same here. They're the closest ones I've seen tho. To be honest I've never seen an actuall price for them.

Re: Larger cross lace rims

All I read was "call for price" and saw one of their wheels for $1600.

I'd rather just stay stock crosslace for that price!

Re: Larger cross lace rims

I have decided to go to a smaller rim.

Should I do 17/18 or 16/18? I will be lowering the car

And is there any that look similar that won't kill my wallet? I like gloss black with a. Chrome lip

If you can find them, Epsilon has a crosslace looking wheel. And somewhat similar is the BBS RC090.

Good looking wheel, but holy price! I'll stick with my stock crosslaces.

I've been completely lost as to what rims to buy for my car and just can't decide on anything. I love the look and deep lip of my crosslace wheels. I hate to let them go but I have to upgrade the brakes and am looking at fitting wilwood fixed calipers.

I got extremely excited the first time i saw those in PHP for about about the 10 seconds it took me to realize they where HRE's.

Someone needs to make an affordable version of these rims that will fit 13" brakes and strong enough to race on. With all the vette and iroc nockoffs out there it's amazing it hasn't been done yet.

I refuse to pay stupid over inflated prices for rims. And who wants to race and brake dust up 6k rims? Especially ones that cost over half the value on average of the cars they where designed after?

So lets drum up the interest. Who here would also be interested in a GTA remake in an 18" wheel? What width 9"? 10"? What do you think would be a fair price per rim? Would you want them to use the stock center caps?

The goal here would be to get a enough replies to hyperlink this thread in an email and send it to some wheel manufacturers. Can't hurt to try.

Who else would buy 18" GTA remakes?

CTW Motorsports wheels, while a 5 spoke design are in the ballpark of what you are asking. FYI, our 17" wheel will fit a 13" brake system with about an inch to spare (I have a Baer track kit on my car).

There are 2 reasons why HRE and Forgeline wheels are so expensive: first, they are fully forged and most likely a 3 piece wheel, very costly to make. Second is the fact that everything is custom made to order, colors, styles, width, diameter are all made one at a time and combined into a ultra strong wheel. You pay a lot for these, but they are quality...

GTA wheels have a crosslace pattern, which is pretty hard to engineer and manufacture, costing more than a spoked wheel, but thankfully afford more strength and probably lighter weight. My manufacturer makes mesh wheels for BMW applications, the cost would be about approximately $1,700 a set in 18" x 9.5", or $425 a wheel and would be stronger than say CTW wheels, but not as tough as a 3pc HRE at 3x the price.

I want to point out that a GTA style wheel may have monoblock caliper clearance issues to the back side of the wheel - this is due to the "lip" of the wheel (and required offset) and may relegate most aftermarket brake applications to other wheel styles.

A wheel like this can't be machined for less than $700 a wheel, and be available in multiple sizes and offsets. There is just too much machining involved.

A cast version may be feasible, but will require a significant initial investment on the part of the manufacturer. The manufacturer in turn would require way more pre-orders than the third gen community is willing to make. They will still likely cost upwards of $400 a wheel.

I plan on having exact replica GTA wheels in an 18" diameter made by this company: http://evodwheels.com/wheels/
I've already had a very lengthy conversation with them about what I want. They're charging me $1,500 per wheel.

$7,000 for a set of 4 18" wheels and tires is an extreme amount of money for a third gen.

Believe it or not there's a guy near Toronto with HREs on his pro drift car.

it helps that HRE is one of his sponsors.

I know some one with a set of epsilons. I might go with a wider outer barrel on the rears to give the rear a deeper lip look and also allow the option to run a 315/35/17 drag radial.

Try here
http://www.hawksthirdgenparts.com/gt...-reproduction/

You would have to have 2 of the wheels widened on your own though.
