New GTO rims
I have the chance to buy a set of RallyIII's (new GTO wheels) with tires for $300. They're the same bolt pattern as our cars, but I just wanted to see if anyone else here has done this or knows that they'll work right. They'll be going on my '86 T/A. If anyone can share pictures of this setup it would be cool too. Thanks

Re: New GTO rims
Well I got the wheels. Great shape with new BFG Gforce ta tires. I went to put them on the car and forgot about how far out our bearing housings sit :'( any one know of an alternative hub or whatever that would allow these wheels to fit?

Re: New GTO rims
How close are they to fitting? If they are close you could use a dremmel with a drum sander to make the hole a bit bigger. Post some pics as I have no idea what the gto rims look like.

Re: New GTO rims
Not close enough for that. and I don't want to do any damage to the new rims so I can sell them if they don't fit. I'm thinking I just need to find a different wheel bearing assembly, if that's even possible.

Re: New GTO rims
Those GTO rims have 5x120mm bolt pattern. Our cars have 5x120.65mm or 4.75". Only .65mm difference, not enough to matter. That is like the thickness of 2-3 sheets of paper. I am using wheels with the 5x120mm pattern that came off a BMW with 1.25" adapters. They will bolt right on with the correct adapter to make up the difference in backspacing. Look at the 17" giovanna thread to see proof.

ebay is where I got mine. I ordered 4 http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_...dapters&_sacat=
Put a straight edge across the back edge of your wheel from one side to the other. Then measure down to the back of the center where it bolts to your hub. That is your backspaceing. Do the same to the GTO wheel. Subtract the difference and get wheel adapters close to that measurement.

Stock camaro rims have 4.25 backspace. My giovannas have about 5 5/8" backspace thats why I went with 1.25 adapters so they set close to stock in the wheel wells. Go to big on the adapters and your tires will rub on the fender lip.

I just started a new job so I haven't actually had time to work on it yet :/ As soon as I get the parts ordered and installed, I'll be sure to post pics
