just finished putting on the 17x9.5 wheels, 275/40/17 Sumitomo's (pkg deal). C4 Grand Sport type, 38mm offset.
with that offset, the wheel BS came in at 6.75".
used 51mm MotorsportTech hub-centric adapter in front to get 4.75" BS. adapter bore-size spec'd at 70.6mm (2.780"). I specified an adapter hub-register dia of 71.0mm to mate with what I measured on these wheels.
used 41mm adapter in rear to get 5.125" BS.
no tire rubbing anywhere.

Nice!
Who did you go through for the deal? I am looking at C6 replica 17 x 9.5" through OE Wheels...just curious if you have a better option.

Factory Reproductions, on eBay. I was looking for the 38mm offset, and they had Sumitomo's instead of Nexen.
I had the bright idea that smaller offset means not-so-thick adapter. in the end, I don't think it really mattered, so much for that idea.
I guess the 50mm, 54mm, 56mm offset is more common. just need to calculate that into your adapter thickness to get the right BS.

update:
after about 4 months of daily driving, there was some occasional rubbing at full lock turn with body lean. it occurred on the wheel that's on the inside of the turn, rear part of plastic fender well.
so I replaced the 51mm spacer adapter (2") with 44mm (1.75"), gives me 5" BS, and seems to have solved that problem for the same circumstances.
