Hard to say from your somewhat vague description. WHAT is rubbing WHERE? Wheel rub? Tire rub? Car lowered? Car stock height?
If the car is lowered a good deal, that could point towards tire rub on the inner fenderwell.

4th gen rear or 3rd gen?
I have the 17x9.5 in the rear with 2" spacers on a 3rd gen rear and i just can snag a finger inbetween the wheel well wall and tire on a 275/40/17
so sounds about right, you might either have to get a 4th gen rear or open the well wall more

Take the wheel off and look at where the spring is and that rubber thing (pinion snubber??) that the rear end hits if bottomed out. You can cut some of that crap out, this is what I am doing to fit the same size wheels that you have. Did you get em from oewheels? That should gain you nearly an inch long as you are not worried about cutting. I have a 91 z28, not sure if all 3rd gens are the same setup. I can get a picture of what I am talking about later tonight.

Re: corvette rims problems!!!
Can we see a pic of the back of the car? Just wanna see how the width in the back looks. Also wouldn't mind seeing a pic of the side of the car to see how far out the rims sit. Just wanna get an idea of how my rims will look and if I need to trim the outer fenders a little.
