I love my Yokahama AVS Es 100's
I have the 245/45/ZR16's
The sidewall is little too short for me... Makes the fender gap too big (with a standard ride height), which was my mistake when ordering but hindsight is 20/20.... Shoulda gone 245/50/ZR16
They stick like crazy, and have a real aggressive pattern to them...
Check them out... bout $130.oo each

I just put a set of the BFG S/S tires on my 85 IROC last week. Only drove it home though, I will have to let you know> But I have always had good luck with BFG performance tires!! Enjoy the ride, she looks a lot like my 85, only mine has black interior.

And I run the Kumho Esta AST, great tire for the cheap money, about $80 per from Tirerack.com, and $50 shipping for the set of 4. I've had these two years, about 15,000 miles, tread looks brand new.

I am about to be running the ZR 50 Goodyear Eagle 245/50/16 but I don't think it's a good idea. I probably should sell these to someone who is more into the "show" than the go. I am getting the rest of my parts tomorrow in the mail, and going to hit the streets.

If you're asking me, my tires are Goodyear Eagle ZR 50, these were the tires you would get on the cars in 1987.

Re: Recommended Tires 1987 Iroc P245 50R 16's
To my knowledge, the Gatorback was available when the name was actually "Gatorback" and only the name was changed, to ZR50 while the tread pattern and tire was exactly the same. I may not be correct, but these tires I have are an ORIGINAL tire from the dealership. The car is a yellow 1987 Iroc Z, it is signed by Rick Wagoner former CEO. The owner works at GM Proving grounds here in the Detroit area. The car was immaculate. Anyways, he replaced the tires and sold them to me yesterday. Ya want em' I'll sell em for a great price. I just don't have a purpose for them, I need performance tires and as old as they are, they're only good for show and a light cruise.

How much did you pay? I have General Tires Altimax HP
I paid 90 each a year ago.

They grip hard but are not High speed rated (they are 'H' rated). if you are not wanting to go super fast then these are best! It is hard to smoke them since they are so grippy. They are also highly rated and the tread pattern looks great! They are also a little softer so they ride not so harsh.

Re: Recommended Tires 1987 Iroc P245 50R 16's
NOTICE, less than 10,000 miles not 15K...... and they're from 1997 NOT 1987. I made a huge mistake not listening to the seller of these tires. I called him today to see if he would buy them back, and he told me AGAIN that the tires are from 1997. I often don't listen well. Anyways, the date is on the tires he told me he had no reason to hide anything..... I just want around $300 negotiable; for the tires. I am thousands of miles from California, I'm near Detroit. I would sell the GTA rims with them for $700. Let me know, it's a great looking combo, but my car needs REAL TRACTION which probably no street tire will do for me.

Re: Recommended Tires 1987 Iroc P245 50R 16's
Well when I got there on Sat. They had a set of super sports that a customer had just returned cause they didn't like the way the tires looked on their car, so I got them for a
100bux each! Wow what luck and a no brainer! Talkin about being in the right place at the right time! Tires had about 50 miles on them! Still got the full warranty and free tire rotation and they even waived the environmental fee and still got to use my $20.00 off 4 tire purchase coupon!
