Interest In Ronal R15 rims Group Order

Re: Interest In Ronal R15 rims Group Order
Update on this thread. A reproduction of this wheel is now in tooling and will be available exclusively through OER distributors by early 2012. Pre-orders are being accepted at Classic Industries. You can place an order for them now (no deposit necessary) and you will be contacted by Classic Industries as soon as they are in stock. Preliminary ETA is early 2012. Sales will be on a first come, first serve basis. Hope this helps. The custom center cap emblems are a nice touch as well.

the powdercoats look to be the same price as the polished silver
... the RoNaLs were $400 more for powdercoat ...
thinking about the quality ...
all the others were made by RoNaL so ... go get 'em boys ...

Yeah and another good thing about this is that the center caps, center cap emblems, center cap bolts and the special key for the center cap bolts will be available separately as well for those guys that already have a set and are missing the accessories.

has anyone ordered these yet? Im just curious how the pre order works do they just charge you when they come out, or do they notify you, and then you can pay. I'm really interested just want to make sure the quality is there before I purchase them

Re: Interest In Ronal R15 rims Group Order
The way I understand it, it works like this. When you place an order, they will secure it with a credit card. If the product becomes available within 90 days of the order date, they will charge the card and ship the order without any further contact or approval from you. If the product is on backorder longer than 90 days, then when the product becomes available to ship, they will contact you for approval to charge the card and after your approval, they will charge the card and ship the product. Nothing is charged to the card until the product is shipped. Backorders can be cancelled at any time prior to the product being shipped. Pretty sure that is how it works, but may want to confirm this with them.

Just ordered the "CAMARO" centers for the hubcaps. It says backordered on the invoice so I guess I have to wait.

Well this will effect the price of used sets alot.
Nice to know all of our collective searching for these rims has paid off.
I will be ordering these for myself soon.

Re: Interest In Ronal R15 rims Group Order
I just got off the phone with Classic Industries customer service. They state they still have no date yet as to availability date of these rims yet. He did state that there have been numerous requests, questions and pre orders. I want to know they are definitely coming before I order a set and give a credit card.

So this is a definite thing then? If so ill be putting my order in soon. Why try finding a used set when these will be available. The only downside is its through Classic Industries, they have some **** business practices, especially with back ordered type things.

i will be interested for sure but if they are on back order or whatnot im out. I dont see why they havnt made these already as the demand is there but still they sit on there hands and keep us all in the dark as to whats going on

Re: Interest In Ronal R15 rims Group Order
After some thought, i agree. I just cant leave that kind of money out there not knowing whats going to happen. Even if they dont charge my card right away i cant say down the line when they do that the money will be where it needs to be. I also wouldnt want to put all of the money down and not know when the wheels would be here. Its somewhat of a joke that companies (especially classic industries) would do it like this. They dont want to give out any solid info and expect people to fork over the cash.

Well i got a response today. So, order away!
Hello Sir,
These wheels are ordered by demand. This means that we do not order them from our vendor until a customer wants them. We do not keep them in stock. These wheels must be pre-paid and would take approx 3-4 weeks to obtain from our vendor.
Thank you,

Awesome! Question: Other than the wheel of course and their part no. K151792 for the center cap key, what else is needed to run these on a 91 Formula WS6 with stock brakes and stock suspension? Any spacers or special lugs needed? Thanks!

Re: Interest In Ronal R15 rims Group Order
swiss - Id imagine Ronal since thats whose wheels they are and since they are ordered when bought and take 6 weeks to get in.
six - I just remember seeing some posts saying they wouldnt. Just because the wheel is large enough doesnt mean there wouldnt be clearance issues.

Quoted from this thread
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/brak...l-fitment.html
So YES, LS1's will barely fit, C5's will NOT, I did not see any reference to the 13" C4's I am running, but it seems they have about the same fitment as the LS1 set up, so I assume that would fit as well... might require a tad bit of grinding.
Fitmit issues are with the back taper of the wheel itself, not the width.

The way I read it is that the LS1 brakes just barely fit, thus the C5's (which are harder to fit) do not. You could post on that thread for clarificaiton if you want to be sure though.

Sorry to bump this but does anyone know if LS1 brakes will fit with these wheels. I know C5 are out of the question so id like to try and decide what setup to go with. Thanks

I did, and it doesnt say they fit. All it says is LS1 are pushing it, that could mean a number of things. Anyway...
