Yeah and another good thing about this is that the center caps, center cap emblems, center cap bolts and the special key for the center cap bolts will be available separately as well for those guys that already have a set and are missing the accessories.

has anyone ordered these yet? Im just curious how the pre order works do they just charge you when they come out, or do they notify you, and then you can pay. I'm really interested just want to make sure the quality is there before I purchase them

 

The way I understand it, it works like this. When you place an order, they will secure it with a credit card. If the product becomes available within 90 days of the order date, they will charge the card and ship the order without any further contact or approval from you. If the product is on backorder longer than 90 days, then when the product becomes available to ship, they will contact you for approval to charge the card and after your approval, they will charge the card and ship the product. Nothing is charged to the card until the product is shipped. Backorders can be cancelled at any time prior to the product being shipped. Pretty sure that is how it works, but may want to confirm this with them.

I had no idea these were going to be available...glad I checked on here!! Going to buy a set for my red 88 next Spring, and take the black crosslaces off that car and put them on my 86!

 

I just got off the phone with Classic Industries customer service. They state they still have no date yet as to availability date of these rims yet. He did state that there have been numerous requests, questions and pre orders. I want to know they are definitely coming before I order a set and give a credit card.

 

I want them so badly!!!! Still not avaliable DAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They will be made by Ronal just like the org and later releases.. So I've been told.

So this is a definite thing then? If so ill be putting my order in soon.Why try finding a used set when these will be available. The only downside is its through Classic Industries, they have some **** business practices, especially with back ordered type things.

 

i will be interested for sure but if they are on back order or whatnot im out. I dont see why they havnt made these already as the demand is there but still they sit on there hands and keep us all in the dark as to whats going on

 

After some thought, i agree. I just cant leave that kind of money out there not knowing whats going to happen. Even if they dont charge my card right away i cant say down the line when they do that the money will be where it needs to be. I also wouldnt want to put all of the money down and not know when the wheels would be here. Its somewhat of a joke that companies (especially classic industries) would do it like this. They dont want to give out any solid info and expect people to fork over the cash.

Awesome! Question: Other than the wheel of course and their part no. K151792 for the center cap key, what else is needed to run these on a 91 Formula WS6 with stock brakes and stock suspension? Any spacers or special lugs needed? Thanks!

 

On that same subject, Ronals wont work with LS1 or C5 brakes, will they?

I dont see why they wouldnt as they fit under a 16" GTA or Iroc rim. Ronals are 17"s. I could be wrong with the ronals fitting but I cant see it. Anyone know for sure?

 

swiss - Id imagine Ronal since thats whose wheels they are and since they are ordered when bought and take 6 weeks to get in.

six - I just remember seeing some posts saying they wouldnt. Just because the wheel is large enough doesnt mean there wouldnt be clearance issues.

 

I hope they fit; i have LS1-brakes in the front...

So YES, LS1's will barely fit, C5's will NOT, I did not see any reference to the 13" C4's I am running, but it seems they have about the same fitment as the LS1 set up, so I assume that would fit as well... might require a tad bit of grinding.


Fitmit issues are with the back taper of the wheel itself, not the width.

 

I've seen that too, but was unsure about the interpretation. So this means the R15 fits with the LS1 brakes

 

The way I read it is that the LS1 brakes just barely fit, thus the C5's (which are harder to fit) do not. You could post on that thread for clarificaiton if you want to be sure though.

 

Is it 13" C4 rotors and calipers or areyou running larger calipers?

 

Well if anyone figures out if LS1 fit please post up. I was gonna go with the C5 brakes but ill go LS1 instead if those fit.
