3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
Been posting in in the Lsx forum but thought I'd throw up some quick pics here of the 90 iroc on new camaro rims.
Tires are 255/30/20 and 275/30/20

1.75" on the front
4th gen rear with a custom .5 to get the right bore size for the wheels. I'll probably have to get it cut down to .25 as it's stick in out on the pass side
I have air ride and that's pretty low setting
Alignment is way off too.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
mine is dropped pretty good but no air ride, im assuming those will fit with the 3rd gen rear end? i thought about doing that at one time since i have 2nd gen fenders, 3rd gen car, 4th gen motor and seats.... i need a 5th gen part lol
ive seen a lot of affordable stock 5th gen rims thought it would be neat, i think it looks great on your car, i liked the motor cover you had on it in the other thread

I was all ready to hate but now I realize I need them
Can't wait until they become common and down in price.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
Dude that looks freaking good, I always thought about how they would look on 3rd gens. Here localy theres someone selling a set of those wheels but there asking for $850 I believe thats way to much for stock rims then again im not sure.
Here's the link by the way: http://ventura.craigslist.org/pts/2020958541.html
Alo try to post up some side view pics of the whole ride if you can.
Tony.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
No i bought everything in chunks. I was tempted to buy a 5th gen and do the dash and everything but that woulda exploded into a huge mess.
I got the wheels for 500$ for the set new. You can't run the 5th gen tires, they are like 28"+ overall diameter
I have an adjustable UMI panhard and everything in the catalogue but the overall track is too wide as the driver side wheel is perfect but the pass side one sticks out too far so they would both stick past if I adjusted just the panhard, shoulda got the one I can do on the car to make it easier. Just little tweaks at this point.
Engine is a crate Ls3. I need to find another cover to splice them together
Cold and no heat in the garage has pretty much killed this for the year. It will be rolling around next year unless I get bold and finish it sooner.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
I kind of wondered how those would look on a 3rd gen, thought about doing it myself at some point but always figured it would be too much rim....but amazingly those actually do look good on there, at least from the pictures, it would be nice to see a full side profile of the car though. I wonder how it will handle with rims that big...

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
did the wheel fit the hub or did you have to modify to fit? I actually wanted to put these on my 96 and just wondered what troubles i may face. if you could give me a quick run down at what i may expect i would greatly appreciate it. thanks alot

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
That all depends on the bolt spacing, chances are its changed since our cars, but they make adapters for such things, though personally I would be leery of having something between my wheels and hubs, and not having them connected directly...

Could you post a side shot of the whole car, even if it's in the garage?
Looks like you have a 4thgen as well...?

That looks great. I'm feeling sick now that I didn't bid on those same wheels for sale in Germany they would have been awesome (I'd have the PCed black) looking forward to seeing a side shot too. Love the camaro brembos you have there. Looks like no spacers also.

Re: 3rd gen camaro with 5th gen wheels - pics
Like crap.
They look very nice, but are WAY TOO MUCH rotation weight and unsprung weight for a thrid gen suspension and chassis geometry. The leverage is way too much from the frame mounts. Widen the mounts and shorten the suspension arms and they are better suited like newer technology.
On the flip side, I just saw a 5th gen Camaro lowered down with 17's and 18"s on it and it looked remarkable- Far better than the stock 20's.

Nice! It looks very awesome withthe 5th gen brakes sitting back there. Thats my kinda of mod, stock on steroids. The uneducated F-body person would totally miss it, but a camaro enthusiast would drool :-)

They look like hubcabs since there no lip to define wheel depth... jmo tho. If you like them, go for it.
