Oldschool Tire Setup

I'm hoping that someone could chime in and tell me whether or not this setup would work. For starters, I'm going with 4 Cragar S/S 15" wheels, wrapped in BF Goodrich Radial T/A's. (If anyone knows of a similar tire with a higher speed rating, let me know.)

Here are some pics:

I love the simplicity and classic look of these tires. Right now my current setup is:

Front: 215/70/R14
Rear: 225/70/R14.

Basically, what I am looking for is a regular sized tire in the front, but I would like a wider tire in the back that comes to about the fender lip. I've been using http://www.camarotech.com/WheelsAndTires.html to wade through, but that lists the maximum for each category.

Would this setup work?
Front: 215/60/R15 on 15x7 wheels
Rear: 275/60/R15 on 15x8 wheels

If anyone is running this or a similar setup, if you could post pics that would be awesome. I'm not too sure about offset and backspacing with these tires/wheels either.

Thanks for reading and your feedback everyone

Re: Oldschool Tire Setup

seems like it should work...i think the only thing would be the 275's in the rear. but ive seen people do it and ive seen some people not do it..

Re: Oldschool Tire Setup

What about getting those Cragers in 17"s and using the same size tires front and rear. then rotate every 6k miles.

Re: Oldschool Tire Setup

Do you think the 255/60/R15 or 255/70/R15 might be more reasonable? After looking at some pictures of the 275's I'm thinking I don't want to that route actually, but I would like a tire that will boost the rear end up a little bit.

Not really too into the 17" version of the Cragars, I think they look a little stretched. I love the look of a small wheel with a huge tire on it and that nice raked look, makes me want to spin 'em all over.
haha.

Re: Oldschool Tire Setup

I think I'm going to do 235/60/R15 on a 15x7 for the front and 255/60/R15 on a 15x8 for the back. Now to figure out offset and backspacing..

I ran 15 x 10 cragers for rears on a 92 RS..... L 60's if I remember right.
There is plenty of wheel back there were it wont stick out passed the well.
Believe it or not, it looked good. 8 inch rim wont be a problem on the front or back.
Ill see if I can find a pic.
