Special 3/4 lug nut wrench
is there a special lug nut wrench with some type of cushion or insert that will not damage lug nuts. I have some black rims with black nuts, and they are getting easily scratched, just wondering as i've not seen any special tools out there, any tips

When I worked at a dealership we used masking tape for those situations. Not the perfect solution but it helps, still have to be careful though. When the lugs are recessed a lot it can be a bit of a pain though.

I occasionally see 6-sided sockets that have rounded, indented sides that put the pressure on the sides of the head instead of the corners. Can't remember exactly who makes them though.
