I Need Tires !!! Sumitomo HTR Z II ???
I've got a tight tight budget, and I need some tires within the $400-500 range. Sounds simple right... but im running C5 wagon wheels and have become acutely familiar with the term "corvette tax"
P245/45ZR 17 - $80 - $120 can find reasonable tires here.
and
P275/40ZR 18 - averaging $150 per tire and up - not reasonable
I found these sumitomo's
http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Compar...playResults=10
The sumitomos at the top of this listing
These reviews concern me as it seems like these things bubble alot, and thats not cool.

If not these tires, can anyone recommend something better from this list? I'd like some Zrated it possible.

Falken zx912 are z rated and are about 100.00 each. They were rated number 1 by consumer reports last year when i got mine. They are an AWESOME rain tire and grip really well here in sunny florida. Not recommended but i would do about 80=90mph in the rain without anydoubt about my car sticking to the ground. while everyone else was doing 40mph in the fast lasne of course. damn tourists!! I love em!!!! The tires that is...

I'd look into the Fuzion ZR1's, they are better than the Falken's... and they grip just as well in the rain. Whatever you do, DON'T get Kuhmo's

the htrz II tires are only 15,000 mile tires, keep that in mind before you buy them.

i don't know about the HTR Z 2s but I got the HTR Z IIIs and i took my car down Clinton Rd, West Milford, NJ... maybe somebody knows it, the other day and averaged prolly around 50-70 the whole time and the tires didn't cry once.
Granted i have a good amount of suspension upgrades but the tires didnt give up once. It was amazing. I honestly think i could have gone faster too, but i love my Iroc and didn't want to wrap it around a tree.
ANYwayy the HTR Z IIIs are great tires. Also quite cheap for what there worth. I am very pleased with there performance.
I have them on a set of 9" Zr1s 275/40/17.
let me know if anyone knows what road im talking about!

Whats the difference between the HTR Z/HTR Z II/HTR Z III? I see a difference in tread pattern, but is that it? I see small differences in the compounds & such, but typically different designs have different line names.

I don't know about them being on a camaro but they make my Mazda 3 (my dd) sound like a tank going down the road. That being said the if you don't have snow and don't mind ALOT of noise they stick well

yeah, i work at sears as a tech, and ive had to replace acouple of those sumitomo tires because they develop this huge bubble on the sidewall. so you have to return it and theyll give you a new one since theyre covered under warranty
i recommend kumho ecsta's theyre really good tires, and affordable
