C5 Rims

my friends has a 98 vette and swapped over to Z06 rims and said i could get his c5s cheap. from looking at othe rposts i only need a 2 in spacer and this can work. I would just like confirmation befor i go and spend the money. 17in frnt and 18 rears if you need the tire size i can get that aswell.

Re: C5 Rims

From what i have read, you'll need spacers front and rear. Are these the thin spokes? I'm running the Z06 size 17/18's with 275/40/17 fronts and 295/35/18 rears. I just picked up a 4th gen rear end, so i won't need spacers in the back, 2" up front.
I believe the stock size tires on the rims you're talking about will be 245/40/17 and 275/35/18.

Re: C5 Rims

Buy 1 pair of 2" spacers and see how it works for the fitment at both front and rear. If it works at both ends, order up another pair. That was my plan...until i bought a 4th gen rear. Now i don't need spacers in the rear and can use the 1 set i bought on the fronts.

Re: C5 Rims

If they are the wagon wheels they will bolt right on with 2 inch spacers front and rear this is with 245's in the front and 275's in the back, at least it did for my 82 firebird. I have rear drums though so I dont know if rear discs will be any different.

Re: C5 Rims

Thin spokes or wagon wheels, you should be OK with those tire sizes and the spacers. I know i need to modify my bump stop bracket on mine...a little too close for comfort to the 295 Michelin's.

Re: C5 Rims

that sucks because i ordered 2 sets of 2 in as i was eyeing it up though i thought it might have been closer to 2.5 in but i guess time will tell. anyhow im sure i can sell a set of new 2in spacers quick. or maybe they place i bought them from will let me exchange them.

Re: C5 Rims

You should be good with the 2" front and back just like the C6 wheels. Later.

Re: C5 Rims

2" on all 4 corners is ideal
1.5" upfront will fit but you have to grind the tierod

Re: C5 Rims

they look good all around except i think it might be a little to close on the bumpstop. im not sure but i might have to beat the fwheel well a little bit, i would just rather be careful then have somethign bad happen.
