Kumho vs. Hankook

Hey all, I have a 92 Camaro RS, that is soon going to have 17x8.5" Z06 wheels.

I want to make sure I get good tires for it. I'm deciding between the Hankook Ventus HRII H405 and the Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires.

The Kumho's are slightly more expensive, but the both have the same ratings as far as traction and (I believe)heat. The treadwear on the Kumho's is 280 and 340 on the Hankooks.

Im leaning towards the Hankooks, but I don't want a tire that's not going to perform well...

Any opinions would be appreciated!

I have had boath, but not for very long. I don't think you will really tell a diference with the 305 tbi.

He's prolly right. I had the 712's on an Olds and REALLY could tell a difference in them compared to the Michelins on it before. Really nice tires. I liked them so much I bought a set for the wife's Volvo.

Never considered the Hankook's though. I just couldn't find them in Austin at the time...

I ended up ordering the Hankooks. They were $110 cheaper, and have the same traction ratings. The Hankooks actually have a higher treadwear rating too.

I think they'll be okay. I only have 180hp or whatever anyway!
