82-84 front plate bracket adapters & cargo cover pieces
Hello all ...
I'm looking for the the mounting pieces that attach the license plate bracket to the front bumper for my 1984 Trans Am. There are four little dimples where these adapters would drill into the bumper with 4 screws. I see the license plate brackets are relatively easy to come by new, but supposedly the adapters that attach the bracket to the bumper are different from 82-84 than they are 85-92. Any of those parts cars have the adapters and (4) screws for 82-84?
I'm also looking to fix my cargo cover ... the cargo cover itself is fine, it's just the mounting pieces that are broken on the ends. Because of this, the ends of the cover don't stay interlocked with the brackets on the car and the cover won't retract automatically if you pull it out. I wonder if I can fix the ends or have to replace the whole cover?
Looks like I posted this out in the main thread area, I should've put it under the OTHER PARTS thread, but I can't figure out how to move it now... sorry about that! Thanks in advance for your replies!

i thought about making a metal one that attaches to the bumper metal underneath as some ppl claim they have done but i cant see how tha is possible under mine the metal is shaped/stepped really oddly no real good place to mount such a piece of metal
no one seems to want to be very helpful on this subject for some reason

Re: 82-84 front plate bracket adapters
Randy,
FYI I found new GM license plate bracket and adapter available through Modern Day Muscle (formerly Perry Pam) at http://www.moderndaymuscle.com/exterior4?b=1 - Look for "Metal Front License Plate Mounting Bracket" and "82-90 Front License Plate Bracket Adapters." I'm not completely sure if the brackets that screw to the bumper have the screw holes in the right spot. I had read that 82-84 brackets were somehow different than the rest of Thirdgen just slightly. But I don't think it will be a big deal, however the holes line up and it ends up screwing on, as long as it is level the plate bracket itself is still the correct GM OEM part and the plate will cover the factory dimples in the bumper if unused. I'll let you know how mine turns out when I install it. You can also sometimes find this kit (plate + brackets) as an eBay auction under 'PerryPam,' it's the same seller/company as Modern Day Muscle.

Re: 82-84 front plate bracket adapters
FYI I found out the dimples in my '84 bumper do not line up exactly with the bracket adapters I purchased, however, as I said before this will not be a problem once mounted to the car.
