EGR valve, distributer, fuel injectors, air intake questions

I tried doing a search cuz I read a couple of these before, but still couldn't find what I wanted.

EGR valve or PCV valve( I still can't remember which is which) down on the right side of the engine the sauser shaped valve; when pushing up/in from the bottom, should it move upward easily or is it normally pretty stiff? Mine's pretty hard to push up.

When pulling the dist in and out, is regular bearing grease what you need to lube the shaft or do I need something else? Don't have everything for the timing chain, but got the timing light today so this weekend I might try rebuilding dist, install new plugs, install 8.5 wires, hook up MSD 6A, and time it. (wish me luck)

Will 3.1 or 3.4 injectors work in the 2.8?

And the best for last. I've been making mental plans and keeping an eye out for stuff to make my cold air/ram air out of. I'm planning on taking out my foglights and using those holes for the intakes. But a thought occured to me. Might the heat coming off the road make the air going in too hot since those holes are so close to the surface, or am I just being too paranoid. I think only the rare hot days while on the autobahn would be the only time I'd have to worry this.

That's the EGR valve; and yeah, it'll be pretty stiff.

I actually used engine assembly lube for mine! I figure the shaft gets enough lube from the engine's oil passageways. Do we know if GM (or those rebuilding companies) use any lube?

I think Karl is using the 3.4 injectors in his 2.8 intake manifold/fuel rail...

The hot air might be a factor, but don't forget, you'll be moving forward... the cars in front of you would (i think) keep that air by the pavement from getting too hot.

Let us know how the job goes!

Most all GM PFI injectors will physically fit, and the plug is the same, but if you go too large on the injector the computer will freak out and you'll get ****ty gas mileage.

Been there, done that.
