Car: 13 Ram 1500/ 78 Formy
Engine: 5.7 / 7.4
Transmission: 6sp / TH350
Axle/Gears: 3.55 posi / 3.23
it's about freakin' time! & no desecration like the nova or le mans rehashes
to keep this tech: went to Radio Shack to get a new power supply fan for the computer, & they hve 2 neat digital multimeters: a small $30 (on sale) & a larger $90. Each are autoranging, a very nice feature, and the larger one even has a temp. probe ( for use on inanimate objects, not yourself or other living things )
Just letting everyone know incase they're shopping for one.

THANK YOU FOR SOMEONE KNOWING WHAT A GTO IS!!!!!!!!
That other car is a nice attempt.
You can't go back (witness the 1973-74 GTO).
I've accepted that.
That's why I had/have the originals.
NOTHING LIKE A Drag Racing Trophy Winning 1965 389 4-Speed GTO (My Aunts car & Cousin racing).
I almost bought a 1964 Tri-Power Convertible (stock & right, not 100%, just right, tho) in 1983. But the guy wanted 5K, then. I bought my 1967 RS/SS Camaro Convertible 4-Speed (same specs) short time later for $3,800.
I sold a brand new 1983 Yamaha Vision ($4K, sold $2K) for the Camaro down payment.
You can't just move (1981) to Los Angeles, CA and not own a Convertible
If I could, I'd buy a brand new 2002 Camaro/Firebird, Convertible, right now.
Other investments negate that decision.

Car: 1995 Z28
Engine: LT1
Transmission: Built 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 3.23's - Limited Slip
Yes. That GTO is a nice attempt. But well a redesigned Grand prix does not impress me. And the tail lights are terrible on that thing. The V-8 Power is 100% right.
But if there going to do it right make that car look more like the 69 Judge. Then GM will be talking.

Sorry, but that car is a lame attempt to bring in new consumers with the name GTO. I would be more impressed if they revived the old car design with modern electronics and powetrains. fNord so far has been the only builder to do so with thier Tbirds, the car still looks like a thunderbird.

That car is ugly and adiscredit to the GTO's of past.It looks like a Sunfire econobox. In the article it states "could this replace the Firebird" ?,in one word, NO!.
The Trans Am has the ***** to match it's looks,if this has ***** who cares it still looks like every other econobox on the road, even the new Mustangs look like sport cars with the hood scoop and other styling ques.
GM is being run by Morons

They get rid of a perfectly fine MUSCLE car for that...? That thing deserves a "Cavalier SS" nametag... not "GTO"... goats were defined by the '69 Carasel Red hard-top Judge... that thing even wearing the GTO color would be ugly...
Bunch'a ****in' morons...

you're forgetting about "orbit orange"
And Lutz even asked the question "What's a car guy?"
also they had a 4wd ls1 grand prix car made, forget who did it. maybe that was the go ahead for this?
at least you won't have to fork over $40k to get a new ls1 car (read: vette)
they're making an attempt, but if that thing is fwd, then it should fail miserably & burn in hel l forever :nono:

I hate these dam Gm remakes of cool car, turing them into cookie cutter crap, that will never be worth anything.
It should be done like any other car, you start at the last model year and change it 20-30% to looked updated.
like the poor nova, left a winner and came back as a pile of ****.
and the poor duster taking that same road.
The GTO should go away untill it looks like a GTO.
Would you buy a fithgen like that? a complete 180 flip on the body style and design, looking nothing like the original.
