Wow, $53.69 for underdrive pulleys, is that each one. Thats pretty cheap. ANybody running them on their V6, I heard they kinda drain the charge in your car though.

i have been running ASP's underdrive pulleys for the last two years. its really a great product. the guys on Crank 'n' Chrone on TNN endorsed and used them to sup up a car. i have both the crank and alternator pulley and have been running with both since i bought them. it was so long ago since i installed them, but it was one of the first things i did because it was such a simple install. but i do remember def felling a bit more kick. but where i think it really has helped is now that i have installed and exhaust and cold air setup, my car is so ALIVE compared to when it was stock. pulleys are a great addition to you setup, and will undoubtly help with thottle response and power throughout the rpm range.
as for the alternator pulley issue about it causing problems, i am a believer thats if more of a myth. i have a new (2 years old) die hard battery and a had to replace the alternator (2 years ago) and haven't had a single problem with my electrical system, with the battery charging, or the car starting. i have even had the charging system checked by a mechanic with the pulley installed and he said it checked out great! the only thing you WILL notice is that your lights will dim at idle and you voltage drop a little, then once you get going volatage will rise right back up past 13....but again, no negative effects at all.
you will need to get a new belt though. you will need one shorter than stock, but the pulleys come with the part number and my pep boys had it hanging right on the wall. cheap and easy to find.
anyway hope that helps.....

I haven't seen any difference in the belt routing between an '87 2.8 and an '88-up 2.8. '82-86 are out of the loop (dammit) because we use v-belts instead of a serpentine. Yes; I'm bitter.

Did anybody notice a difference in engine temp with the pully set since the water pump is getting slowed down? I've been thinking about getting a set of those pullies.

If you guys are interested I have that exact set of pulleys here at the house. It's the alternator and crank pulley. I originally bought them for my 3.1 but I am afraid of the charging problems, so I strayed away from putting them on, although every now and then I think about it.
So if you guys are interested, I'd take $40.00 for them, and I'll cover shipping. These were NEVER installed and still brand new. My loss, your gain. I would post this in the sale section, but I think it makes more sense to post it here considering it's only for the V6's and it would appeal to you guys.

yea, you will need a new belt....a shorter one. when you get the pulleys the instruction will have the part number on it.
as for the whole alt pulley controversy. yea, my lights dim slightly at idle, other than that i have had my charging system checked by a mechanic while the alt pulley was on and everything checked out fine. i've had the alt pulley on for almost two years now. same battery, same alt, never had a problem because of it. just give it a shot and see what happens.
BUT, if you ARE running and amp and sub...then i would def not suggest running the alt pulley. just stick with your stock pulley. I am running a pioneer head unit with some infinity kappa 6x9's so the extra strain over the strock radio is minimal. but if you add and amp and sub on top of that, they you are going to be obviously requiring more juice. so it depends. hope this helps. i have nothing but good things to say about running both pulleys.
