Car: 13 Ram 1500/ 78 Formy
Engine: 5.7 / 7.4
Transmission: 6sp / TH350
Axle/Gears: 3.55 posi / 3.23
gvw: what the vehicle weighs @ full capacity, i.e. all passangers, full crgo, full tank of gas. my bonneville has a gvw of 6198. you just need the smallest one. Hook-up like this:
Tranny line out to cooler in.
Cooler out to rad in.
Rad out to tranny in.
never bypass the radiator. The fluid needs to keep warm in the winter, & the radiator will do this, plus give extra cooling in summer.

I did it to mine before it went. I got about an extra 10K out of it because of it. Then the seals all just said good bye and it leaked like water out of the hose. Well worth it and should have come stock..

Last time I'll say these things.
Check the tranny cooler idea on the TRANNY SIDE.
REALLY suggest you shop for a tranny shop, instead.
IT's so cold now, what difference will a tranny cooler make, anyway?
Besides, exactly where will you place it?
I gave my extra tranny cooler to Graeme for his Chevelle (when he had it).
You cannot bandaid a worn down tranny.
Only rebuild them.
BE honest, how much abuse did you give the tranny when you replaced the old 2.8 engine (upshifting manually & down shifting manually)?
How much trans braking/laying rubber did you do, also?
And have you asked this question on the TRANNY Side?
Pro Built Leo Really knows his stuff.

Actualy, it is not to difficult.
The trick is the spring pack compressor tools.
Without that tool, you cannot make the tranny go back together.
What is wise is knowing a good shop and asking them to go for a ride to decide the condition of the tranny.
Best solution.
