Will an LH0 from a FWD car fit in my Firebird?
I have a 1991 Firebird with a 3.1 L V6. The current motor needs to come out of the car in order to be fixed, so I figure I'm better off getting something with lower mileage and putting that in, seeing as the current motor leaks oil out of just about everywhere. I managed to find the motor out of a Chevy Beretta that only has 900 miles on it. The thing is, the Beretta is a FWD car, and I read that the version of the LH0 that went into FWD cars was slightly different from the one that went into RWD cars, which makes me question whether or not it will fit in my car.
Side note: Anyone who wishes to reply with something along the lines of "just put a v8 in it." Need not to reply to this post.

Yup. V6 forum here is great.

The starter bolts up on the wrong side, so the trans would be an issue as well. Technically yes it will fit, but it's not worth the hassle and fabrication do put it in.
Best bang for your buck is drop in a 3.4 long block from a 93-95 F-body. Pretty straight forward to do, search it on here. Many have done it.

I've been looking into doing that. My only real question about that involves wiring the sensors. Will all of the sensors for the 3.4 plug into my car's existing wiring harness?

One last question; will using the intake manifold from my 3.1 limit the power output of the 3.4?

Any of the intakes 2.8/3.1/3.4 are all pretty restrictive. The difference between the 2.8/3.1 intake and the 3.4 isn't really going to matter. The 2.8/3.1 intake is actually easier to port, since you can get inside it to work on. I ported mine and bench flowed it, got some pretty good gains, especially over 4500rpm.
Also, since the heads are identical, even if the 3.4 intake did flow more, your valves and ports in the head are the same between 2.8, 3.1 and 3.4.

Badass. Would you by any chance know where I could get a good deal on a 3.4? eBay doesn't seem to have much, and I can't find anything on my local Craigslist.

Hit up the forums on here, most states usually have their own F-body forum as well. Just do search around, you should be able to find one, may have to drive a bit for it. I ended up having mine shipped from Florida to Michigan lol. It was cheap, low mileage and 100% complete though, so well worth it.
