There was a discussion thread a while back. Not a trivial exercise.

I've thought about it too. IMO, not really any more difficult than an LS1 swap as long as you grab a complete engine/trans combo with PCM. The PCMs are supported by HPTuners just like the LS1 PCMs.
Things that you would have to figure out would be what accessory drives will work in a 3rd Gen, which oil pan will work in a 3rd Gen, custom motor mounts (really not that difficult), custom trans/torque arm mount, and custom driveshaft. Other than those 5 things it should be more or less the same work as an LS1 swap.
I can't remember if these engines come with a 4L60E, but if they do, that should make the trans adaptation pretty basic. OTOH they do not come with a manual transmission that there is already a swap crossmember for. You'd have to make something yourself.
The ultimate DOHC 60* swap IMO would be to use a 3.6 with the CTS 2.8T turbo setup (provided it fits). I remember reading a thread somewhere where a guy in Europe was making over 600 whp with a modded 2.8T in some kind of Saab. So the potential is there.
