2.8 running rough

When I first start it up, I have a high idle, and then when I put it in gear the idle goes back down. Also it stalls when I stop, you can almost predict it, the idle starts to hiccup and then it stalls. It just stops. I'm checking for vacuum leaks now, and EGR had been replaced, tune up was done also, but can't find the timing settings anywhere on this forum. Can anyone help? I'm looking for the timing settings on my 2.8L v6 MPFI '89 Pontiac Firebird

Re: Sons 89 firebird 2.8 MPFI

I already "Googled" it, and wouldn't be asking for help if I had found it. I am one of the newest members here, and don't really know how to start new threads. Apologies for any inconvenience, but the searches on this forum yeilded no results as to timing settings.

Re: Sons 89 firebird 2.8 MPFI

My car is missing the sticker that had the timing settings, the vacuum gage showed late ignition timing. Anyone that can help me with this, I would be very happy.

At the top of the forum, there's a button that says "new thread".

Re: Sons 89 firebird 2.8 MPFI

I don't have that option. It's only letting me post, or add a poll to the thread, there is nothing that says post a new thread. Maybe that's for higher ranking members. Anyway I have found the timing settings that I had been looking for and posted them here for anyone else that needs them. Thanks.
