2.8 LC1 v6 1984 Camaro questions

Hi, I have a few questions about my Camaro. She is a 2.8 v6 and I was wondering how I could get more horsepower. I know of a few like straight pipes, Removing emissions (which im not sure on how to do) plus headers. I was wondering how to put a cold air intake on it. Also what type of oil I should use, atm I am using 10w-30 but my oil pressure likes to jump around alot, also I hear a whistleing noise when accelerating which leads me to assume I have a vaccum leak, I got carb spray and was spraying it around my lines to see where the leak was but no luck. I also want to know how to get my check engine light codes since none of the shops can read my codes due to it being an 84.

Yeah, that's a couple of questions.

More hp? Depends on how much more. Headers are a great idea. Looks like you've got the carb v6, so you can easily run the Edelbrock Performer. ( Link Scroll down) I think they have a cam too.
I wouldn't do straight pipes.
I'd keep the emissions unless they're broke. I pulled my charcoal canister, capped the line, and haven't seen a difference. I've still got everything else.
Mine has 5-30 on the oil filler cap, but the early 3rd gens might want 10-30.
You can check the codes yourself with a paperclip, or the tool for OBDI cars is about $20 online, more at parts stores. For the paperclip method, shove a paperclip into a & b terminals on your ALDL port under the driver's side dash. You'll get 3 blinks, then the codes. Take your codes here.

Also, the search feature here is great, just be sure to limit it to the v6 section and just the thread titles.

And welcome.

Why not up grade to a 3.4? You could build it up w/ the edelbrock intake & holley 390 carb. Then replace your engine over a weekend.
