1992 3.1l rs
Been running into alot of issues with my vehicle recently. Stopped running a few weeks ago cell was dead in battery starts no problem. Week later wont fire up changed coil starts up while i was doing that changed plugs, wires, distibutor cap, and rotor probably wasnt needed but tried the cheapest first. Now this week got gas tried starting up started but stalled out right away now if i give it gas it start for a second then idle very roughly then sputters out. Sprayed some starter fluid in the air intake didnt fire up with that either.
Ive changed
-Coil
-Plugs/Wires
-Rotor/Distributer Cap
-New Battery
After changing the coil the check engine light would randomly go on and off with a code 33 and notice the digital EGR valve had some bent broken prongs unsure with that would contribute to this problem.

If the egr is stuck open it'll have a very hard time idling. Try blocking off the egr. You can unbolt where it goes into the intake and insert a solid plate (thin metal?) and see if that helps. You may get a code but it wont' mess with the idle. Then.....

try blocking off where egr bolts off did nothing different. there is also a strong fuel smell as well when i can get it to idle before it dies. 33 code still comes up.

should i go ahead and throw on a new map sensor? i was reading there are alot of people that throw on the specified one for the make and model and same issue persists with same code 33. read on one somewhere that a certain year vette one actually fixed the issue all together for someone but i cant find the same page it was on again. thanks for any help again.

Don't buy stuff you don't need to. Figure out what the problem is and fix it. Too many people keep buying stuff hoping it'll fix something.

i had somewhat of the same problem. if yours in a speed density(MAP) sensor, it could be an intermediate loss of ground to he map. the map and the coolant temp sensor are spliced together and go to 1 ground. you can try hooking up a volt meter to the map and wiggle the harness and c if the voltage changes as you wiggle the harness
