The cold start injector is there for a reason. You can eliminate it and put a backing plate over it which usually has an oring and the plate which bolts it down.. Then unplug your injector.. There is nothing locally at a home depot that I would even attempt to use. I am not 100% sure the fiero would even work.. Why are you trying to eliminate it? Please don't say it is because it detracts from the detracts for the appearance of the car.

Just get the kit... The block-off plate is already made and there is a bolt to plug the hole in the fuel rail. Unless you would rather buy a 3.1 fuel rail...

Can i just get a 3.1 fuel rail and bolt it in? is it hard to do? do injectors have to come out? also is there any after market/better year for the fuel rail that will plug and play sans csi?

You still haven't answered the basic question.. Why do you want to remove it so bad?? It is not necessary to remove this for operation of the vehicle or are you doing this for general appearance.

I've never done the delete, but a while back I was thinking about it and took some notes from something I read in a Fiero forum.
A metric 12 x 1.25mm bolt, about 15mm long will reportedly fit the fuel rail. You have to remove an adapter first and then block it with that bolt. That's on a Fiero but I assume the Camaro rail is the same.
I thought about doing this when I had a CSI leak, and found a correct bolt at Ace hardware, it's just too long and needs to be cut down. I never ended up trying it though, just replaced ORings instead.
Swapping to a non-CSI rail would be more ideal. I don't know about the fitment issues though.
If you remove the injector from the manifold, then a 7/8" freeze plug is supposed to fit there. Supposedly some non-CSI cars even came from the factory with a freeze plug on a CSI manifold.
I don't know if there's anything that blocks the cold start switch/sensor. But of course you can just leave it in place.

CarQuest stores usually have a bunch of freeze plugs.
Any newer style injector would be an improvement in what they had back in 1987.
Its a pretty common swap to go with a generation or 2 newer injectors.
As long as they fit the fuel rail and intake, the resistance is right close enough and you can find an electrical connector that fits and in the lb/hr range you need then you might be able to go with much later and better made injectors.

A 3.1 fuel rail is a direct bolt in... If you can get it with injectors, you don't need to do anything other than swap the fuel lines over (same injectors were used on some 2.8's).
ALL 3.1 RWD engines and possibly 3.4s had a freeze plug in the back of the intake where the CSI would go on a 2.8 with CSI... I knocked mine out to put the CSI in.
