another gremlin
Checked all vac lines, spark plugs, wires, sensors, replaced icn and all vac lines along with brake booster.
Problem is, it drives a little hot all the time. But when I come to a stop sign or light, the car stumbles and dies sometimes. I'm at a loss as to what to check next.

whats a Icn??? The Idle Air Control? IAC?
How hot does she run?? Check t stat or just replace it, they are very cheep. 180* one. Check coolent level, make sure none is exscaping/leaking out. And also make sure your fan is working properly. A overly hot car will run rough depending on the temp and what your ecm is programed to do when its hot... I.E. reduce timing, IAC position..exc
Any codes??
Reset the ecm and start over if all the coolent areas check out.
Just my 2 cents.

Yeah I mean iac, typing kinda fast.
Yeah the coolant is full and fan is working fine. Have a 160° thermostat in. So possibly the water pump which I really don't feel like changing. lol

Re: another gremlin
If the stock injectors are still in the engine I'd replace them. You are also better off with the stock 195* F thermostat.
As for running hot, air dam in place? Remove the upper radiator support and look down between the radiator and the A/C condenser. That area likes to fill with debris.
Check the distributor base timing, should be at 10* BTDC on a warm engine with the EST/BYPASS connector open.
If you've had the battery disconnected need to do an idle learn procedure. Otherwise the engine will surge, stall, and sputter at low speeds and idle.
RBob.

Damnit,
I forgot About the idle relearn thing. * smacks myself upside the head.*
I replaced the battery and didn't even remember it.
The 195° is better than a 160° or 180°? I was always under the impression that a cooler engine is a happier engine.
Water pumps on a 3.1 is a royal PITA. On my other 91 back in 2000 I broke 3 bolts getting the old one out. My girl at the time almost broke up with me cause we were supposed to have dinner with her parents. ( I loved that car for that :-) )
