Idle Learn Procedure, scan tool ?????

I am going to replace my injectors on my 91 3.1L V6 and I looked into the service manual and there its written that after changing the injectors you need to:

1. Restore battery power
2. Connect GM TECH I scan tool
3. Select "IAC System", then select "Idle Learn"...

I don't have any kind of tech scan tool !!!

DO I REALLY NEED TO DO ALL THIS AFTER REPLACING FUEL INJECTORS ?

Anyone of you ever did this way and what should I do after I have done the replacement ?

Re: Idle Learn Procedure, scan tool ?????

If you disconnect the battery then the idle learn is required. More so if your car has an automatic. But fear not!, you can do the idle learn without a GM scan tool.

Here is a link to the original post along with a follow up post that has additional information:

Re: Idle Learn Procedure, scan tool ?????

I have a 5-speed tranny and actually I never knew that you have to do ILP after every time you connect the battery cable and so far luckily I have not had any idle problems.

Can I just leave the car for idle for about 5min after reconnecting the battery or should I go with the procedure you described in your original posts ?

I don't have an A/C nor rear view defroster and what is meaning of CHUCK tires ?

Should be chock tires, IOW, block them to prevent the car from moving.

For a stick, just let it idle for 5 minutes or so.
