2 injectors flooding my eingine
about a week ago my car died on me an i had to have it towed to my house. i was getting a map code. so when i got home i installed a new coil and icm thats before my car had any codes. my car would idle errati. so i checked everything.
i have in new parts
ecu with old prom
coil and icm
6 new injectors
plugs wire and cap and rotor
my cat was also getting red hot cause of the fuel i disconnected the lines going to my canister and plugged them up. then my car started to run a 1000 times better. but only ran good for about 10 min. i turned off my car and when i came home today i noticed my number 6 and number 3 injectors were leaking to the point that when i pulled the plugs out gas came out and the starter could not crank the engine over.
the injectors are testing out good and so is the harness. im out of ideas to what can keep the injectors on even with the key out of the ignition switch.
map sensor was with in spec i checked it with my vac pump
ect sensor is good also
i was told that the fuel pressure reg could do this? but i dont think it could make an injector leak.
i was thinking it has to be the prom?
i needs some ideas cause im lost
win lose or draw i have always been able to fix cars but this one has me ****ed.

completly unplug the harness from the inectors turn the key on to prime the fuel pump. see if the injectors still leak down. if so the injectors are no good, if they dont leak down more then likley u have a ground issue in the harness.
the injectors are supplied 12 volts with the key on , the ecm cycles the ground to the injector to open them, if the ground wires going to the injectors gets frayed or grounded out it will hold the injector wide open.
if u need to get new injectors i recomend southbay , they are a sponsor here and they stand behind there products very very well

there is no real common spot for them to get frayed or short out, but u can unplug the ecm then take a dvom and check the harness on the right pins.
what u do is is touch one probe to the injector ground wire and the other side to a chassi ground, if u get continuity u know the wires are grounded out somewere in the harness
but sinc eu know the injectors are leaking without being plugged in a bad wire in the harnes sis not ur issue

Agreed there, if they leak when the harness is off then whichever ones leak are bad. I just had the same issuse but only with one injector. A partical stuck one injector wide open.
