2-3 bar map sensor
Ok im gearing up for this turbo stuff again, hopefully i get it done this time...
Anyways there is not many post specifically on this that i can find.
So does anyone know what and where to find a 2 or 3 bar map sensor for my speed density car? Will a TTA one work?? What about something like that?? I referenced the one in the link below and it is a 2 bar. Why do they give you the new pig tail with it?? Am i missing something? Why can i just plug that map into the connector i already have.
Also ive now changed my mind again and plan to use the $8D B_AUJP code (Boost AUJP) if i can find this??

Re: 2-3 bar map sensor
Where did you find a copy of B_AUJP?
You have to make sure tye bin file you are using supports the MAP sensor you are using. I.E. code59 requires. 3 BAR MAP sensor.
The 2 and 3 BAR MAP sensors have different connectors because they have different tangs, it's so that the wrong sensor can't be plugged in. You can modify your existing MAP sensor connector to fit the 2 or 3 BAR MAP sensor.

I guess ill just have to use the 59 code or figure out a way to mod the aujp to work with a 2 or 3 bar map.

Have you read this about the $A1 yet, just as a comparison with the $88...?

Re: 2-3 bar map sensor
I like all those bins and all the control over the values, Didnt you turrbo a V6? What did you use? Whats the easiest but the best way to go with my 730 ecu?

Re: 2-3 bar map sensor
Easiest way would be to use code that already supports 2 or 3 bar maps sensors. $8F was used on the Turbo Grand Prix, automatic only, though there is a manual patched bin around, works with 2 BAR. $58, stock Sy/Ty/Turbo Sunbird/Grand Am code, works with 2 Bar. Then there is $59, modified $58, that has many enhancements, and requires a 3 BAR MAP sensor. All of these codes will work in the '7730 ECM.

Do i repin the 730 ecu to work with the $58 or $59?
I got this map sen. on the way, checks out by the #'s as a 3 bar.

Will the 3 bar only work on masks that were designed for a 3 bar?
Such as the $8D that was for a automatic(which is what i have) but that mask is only for a 2 bar??...so would it not work with a 3 bar? Thanks again, im really trying to understand.

Re: 2-3 bar map sensor
There shouldn't be any repinning needed.
Here is a thread on the code59 site that discusses some of it and when pin changes are needed. http://www.code59.org/index.php?opti...tid=22&id=6735
Yes, the 3 BAR map sensor will only work correctly with bins set-up for use with a 3 BAR MAP sensor.
When you said $8D, you might have quickly read over my reply and missed that I actually said $8F, which is a very different code than $8D.

Re: 2-3 bar map sensor
So used to the $8D mask that I keep counting the other codes out. The $58 code is essentially a drop in for the '7730. The $8F runs DIS w/the 7730, but the same tach output is used to run your distributor, but you would just need to correct your timing control. Completely forgot about the $8F to tell you the truth...
