V6 exhaust sound files

Ok, so people don't have to e-mail around sounds files to people, I've posted the more find-able V6 sound files on my server. Feel free to send poeple to this post when they ask about V6 sound files.

www.xenodrgn.f2s.com/2.8aerochamber.mp3
(The person who owns this car said it was cold, and that explains the crackle/pop on decel. He said it doesn't do it once it's warm.

www.xenodrgn.f2s.com/2.8flowmaster.mp3
(Never got it past 3 or 3.5K RPMs, so this can only give you an idea how it will sound once you get up top (redline on a 2.8 is 6K, power peak is right around 5100)

I have yet to come across a Dynomax SuperTurbo sound clip, and as some of you know this is the general consensus when it come to V6 mufflers... I'd like to hear/post it for others so if you've got one or can get one, please do!

Anyway, there you go. Don't flame me, I'm trying to help... I know they sound like a$$, you don't need to knock it.

Wow...

I'm convinced... that sounds damn good!

Oh yeah, and WTF is your brother saying in the background? "You're gunna break my damn notebook you..." You should kick his *** and then do another recording. And if you do... keep it up around 5K for a few seconds... I'm qurious to hear how it sounds... that didn't sound too bad at all... I think I might just go with it! It's the best I've heard yet. How long had it been on, a long time or not long at all?

O yeah, and I noticed that my links don't work... turns out F2S doesn't like serving anything other than webpages... oh well, so much for that adventure...

The other flowmaster must have been a 40 series... too much loud for a V6... I still like that 80 though!

Xenodrgn, that is my brother, but hey what can ya do w/ a 11 y/o bro...
I'm actually kinda scared to rev it up to 5k, I never drive with it over 3500 (I only got a permit, don't wanna risk it)

EDIT: What did you mean how long did I have it on?? The Flowmaster has been on since '98 when the car got painted, if that's what you mean.

Yeah, I was asking how long the muffler had been on the car... I heard that mufflers need to "break-in"...

Is it loud in the car as well? How big is the I-pipe? Is it single or dual out? What size tipsdo you have on it...

As far as revving it to 5K... redline is like 6 I believe, and your version of the 2.8 makes peak HP at 4900. Says so right here:

89 Coupe
Firebird M5,A4 LB8 V6 8.9:1 2.8 (173) 135@4900 160@3900 MFI 3.42 ---- 3.42 ----

The 2.8's changed in 87... my 86 motor (late production 85... guess they ran out of 85 motors and put an 86 in... every indication points to this) makes it's peak at 5100... I got this info from this sites tech data.

But yeah... it definatly sounds -very- nice. Now all I want to hear is a Dynomax Super Turbo on one of these puppies... that'll make me truely happy... and then I can finally fix my exhaust...

Whatever the stock size is. Nothing has been done to it except the Flowmaster. Its 1-in, 2 out, 2.5" chrome tips. Here's a pic. (Can't put it in the post, but I can link it, I have a bandwidth limit)

http://photos.onebigvillage.com/pubimage.asp?id_=73934

It gets REALLY loud past 4k, I know that, I've played with the throttle a little bit. Maybe I'll make another mp3 after I get back from vacation. It IS loud inside, that's why I don't rev it that high. It drowns out the subs, but turn up the subs, they can be heard over the exhaust.
