Starting my motor build up with and intake and headers.....

I just ordered an edelbrock 2bbl. intake this week and it is coming in the mail soon. This starts my year long motor build up. I need some suggestion on what to do. First things first, My intake i am putting it on my current engine in my car. But i am wondering if it would be a good idea to maybe get a junkyard 2.8L block and build that up instead of my stock motor so i will have something to drive while the build up is going on. I am hoping to get a 3.4L stroker kit from A.R.I. Racing Engines. http://www.engine-parts.com/ It will be there Stage 2 kit with an over bore of 0.030 or 0.090, also a port and polish of heads, MPFI or Carb, probably carb because it will get me more tourqe because of smaller valves. I will also mill the heads so i can get 9.5 to 10.5:1 compression, and a 3 angle vavle job. The last thing will be the 4bbl. top for the intake with a Holley 390cfm carb. and headers. I'm hoping for 300-350+hp. Do you think this is a realistic number?

Now for the exhaust. As you know i've been bosting(spelling) about my rare Heddman Header. Before I any farther(spelling) I want to say i'm sorry for bosting(spelling) I don't mean to do it, it's just i'm happy I found them. I will be happy to email anyone of you guy with measurement if you want them, and I will be in touch with Heddman about bring the headers back into production.

With that said, I need help. I maybe getting the exhaust done next week. Headers and all. I have put up a picture of what my exhaust may look like, Dual inlet/outlet cat, two glasspacks and out the back. I'm think of maybe using another muffler, other then glasspacks and flowmasters. I'm thinking about going with a Dynomax mufflers, but I don't know which one. Any suggestions are well come. I've seen the website about the dual exhaust fbodies, post by Tas in the Exhaust forum. I am think about instead of having the muflers in the middle of my system to moving them to the end of my system like a Jaguar XKR, Corvette, or RiceBoys. To get the most amount of tourqe out of the system. I will go with 2" pipes and cat. and what ever muffler I end up picking. I don't know what do you think? I am open to any and all comments, question, or what ever you have to say about this thread. I will enclose the pic and link to my exhaust system on my website.

Thank you for your comments and questions and what ever in advance,
Robert

If I am reading this right you plan on running true dual on a V6?, if so DON'T you'll LOSE power. get a 2 inlet one outlet cat and reconfigure. GM performance has 4 BL intakes for the 60* right? I'm not looking at my cat right now so not positive but I thought I saw one. anywho I would even try a 450 CFM, I have seen the 4.3's I know there bigger but running 750's. Why not lose the carb and go TBI from a Vortec 4.3?. it'll fit. as far as what to build up, get a good junker block and have it redone, so you do not lose your car for the whole process.
Honestly you might see 300 but more then likely 280ish. Sorry. I would not put the comp more then 9.0-9.5 small motors really don't like the high constant comp.
As far as the exhaust exit, hell I found a Greddy muffler I LOVE muffler style with twin tube out to a 3" oval down turned tip.

use this formula to calculate proper carb size, this is from the Holley site, and assumes 100% volumetric efficiency.

How To Calculate CFM:
Engine size (CID) x maximum RPM / 3456 = CFM
CFM @ 100% volumetric efficiency

173 X 6000rpm /3456 = 300.347 cfm

209 (3.4?) X 6000rpm / 3456 = 362.85 cfm

Edlebrock makes a 4 barrel intake for the 60* block but whenever I contacted them about it they told me that if I went with the 4 barrel I could not use my computer.
