What Temp does the Idiot Temp Lite Come On
On a '86 2.8L. I know that the fan comes on at about 233 deg. When does the temp. idiot lite come on? I'm guess more then 240?

Yeah, I've always wondered the same thing.

The light comes on when the temp sensor reads greater than 258*F. A little hot for me, but what do I know.

Thanks 86...I went around & around with this for 2 weeks. I just rebuilt a 2.8 (top end only), started right up, but the temp lite came after 5 mins of idling. I had a new coolant sensor in. I thought it was everything else...well I checked everything else & it turned out to be a bad new coolant sensor!!!
