Re: V6 Injector Problems
stalling and not restarting, not being able to reach high rpm's, lack of power, not starting at all. I've had so many injector problems sinceI've owned this thing!

Re: V6 Injector Problems
Would injectors cause it to have a 3 second throttle response time? or have very little acceleration? If I do replace my injectors should I go with a larger size if so what size is recommended? Also how can I check to see if my injectors are bad?

Re: V6 Injector Problems
First check is the resistance. Should be about 13 ohms and all very close in value. Then you'd need to check the flow but that would cost about the same as a cheap set of reman injectors. Southbay is a site sponsor and several members have recommended their 15# set for not much over $100. You don't need larger than stock.

Re: V6 Injector Problems
That sounds more like when my fuel pump was puttign out about half the normal pressure. I would check the fuel pressure before I worried about the injactors just yet. Also make sure you've got good spark.
To check injectors, stick some conductor down into each of the wires. Using your DVOM measure the resistance. I forget whether these cars use high or low impedence injectors, but all your ohm reading should be about the same. This isn't a fool proof test though, you can have a bad injector and still get good readings.
Stock size is the only size you'll ned unless your going to be doing sime serious modifacations.

Re: V6 Injector Problems
here are some signs of bad injectors:
Rough idle, loss of power, stumbling and stalling, dirty fuel injectors will cause the engine to run rough

Re: V6 Injector Problems
Curious, did the 3.4 rwd get the same shitty injectors or are they better?

Re: V6 Injector Problems
most cars from 1985 to about 1992 ish' got shitty injectors. That goes for other applications also,,,,,believe it or not we see the same problem with the marine injectors. Most marine and auto injectors are one in the same. When the marinas send their injectors to us for service, and they are multecs....what pieces of crap.

Re: V6 Injector Problems
Turns out it was my fuel pump. also what would be the result of cracked and split vacuum lines to some things such as the egr and etc?
This is my car and what all came out of my old fuel filter

Re: V6 Injector Problems
I mean that I have cracked and split vacuum lines and also both of my manifold gaskets are leaking will that cause slow throttle response

Re: V6 Injector Problems
bad manifold or head gaskets cause a plethora of problems, and yes shitty throttle response is one of them, as well as low power, crappy idle, etc. As for the vac lines, certain types of plastic and rubber fall apart after 2 and a half decades, perfectly normal, hardly a single vacuum line on my whole car was in even half decent shape, some of them literally crumbled on contact.

Re: V6 Injector Problems
well I suppose my next task is to replace the exhaust manifold gaskets on the camaro. I have already opened up the dual snorkel air intake by removing the bottom plastic coverings and the rock sheild and just leaving it open other than the air filters...

Re: V6 Injector Problems
wait, is the leak intake or exhaust manifold gasket? intake is a bigger issue, but exhaust is still an issue, can burn wires, and affect the exhaust systems ability to properly evacuate the exhaust gases, things like that mess with the flow.
