Rebuilt Engine to go in this weekend

ok here it is...about 6 months ago my engine died. i think it was a head gasket problem. rather than have it fixed i got a rebuilt engine. the engine goes in this weekend. but my car has been sitting for 6 months. will i run into any problems since its been sitting for this long? also, is there anything i should do while the engine is out? thanks.

Weld the pick up onto the oil pump.
New timing chain (I'll bet ya have it already).
DID YOU REBUILD YOUR DISTRIBUTOR?

www.kayauto.com

In SUBJECT type:
ATTN: SAUL FELIX/PARTS/PRICE QUOTE.
I made a deal wiith Saul
He'll give us SUPERB PRICES on NEW AC DELCO STUFF

Put Karl with a 1974 Corvette & 1968 Camaro sent ya. That will make the prices lower!

Rebuilding distributor is the best thing you can now do.
Did you clean the injectors?
Installing engine is too much fun, shame you couldn't get a 3.4 block.
I did that, instead of rebuilding the little engine. It was more economical.
Can you get one now & sell the 2.8?

ok here is an update. We started the project friday night and got everything disconnected. Then came back today and took the engine out. Ive started swappin out some of the parts from the old engine. I already have the new timing chain. i bought new plugs, wires, cap, and rotor. I think tonight ill work on rebuilding the distributor like ked said.

When we were draining the oil, we found A LOT of coolant that came out. Seems like the engine was soaked with antifreeze. it was unbeleiveable.

Oh and the reason why i got the 2.8 instead of the 3.4 was mainly because of my dad. I would rather have gotten the 3.4 instead, but ive gone 6 months without my car, so right now i just want her back.

The distributor is so easy.
Remove the pin at the bottom at the gear.
OBSERVE the spacers how they go in.
MAKE A DRAWING IF YA NEED TO!
Slid the stuff out.

SAUL FELIX/ PARTS-PRICE QUOTE (tell Saul Karl w/a 1974 Corvete & 1968 Camaro sent ya-I made a deal for us for best pricing!!)
Get a new modular & the new pick up coil
New Accel cap & rotor
Mark the cap with which plug wire is the spark plug (for reassembly)
Take the shaft.
Get some 400 (or close to it) grade paper-spray it with brake cleaner, clean the shaft
GET THE AUTO DIELECTRIC GREASE for under modular (it prevents it from burning up!)
Lube the shaft with auto grease (a film A FILM) slip it back in, sand off any more rough spots (even when it slips in-can also use a file for one or two spots!) make sure no sticking at all!!
Spin in hands and check ANY VISUAL contact point, make sure they are all equal spacing (everything can easily bend by fingers) and sand paper clean.
Start putting back together, one last time, check everything by eye and by spinning (should spin by hand so easy, now!), tap back in the gear & and spacers and the roll pin.
You are done.
IT IS VERY VERY EASY!!

ALSO GET CHEVY SMALL BLOCK DISTRIBUTOR GASKET- use RTV black film on both sides of gasket to seal. Make the distributor hold down like I tell ya how in the 3.4 long block swap boogie thread, and set timing by ear, after engine starts and runs.
Hey you get your car running and it done.
That's a plus!!
