1.52:1 rockers vs. 1.6:1 rockers....

i know we have these two ratio's to choose from on these roller rockers. Which one is better? Under what mods do each do their best? What about for my current mods. If you do these, will there be a significant gain? alright.. thanks!

Think of the 1.52's as a "precise" factory rocker (with a bonus roller tip). Factory rocker arms are said to vary in ratios between 'em.. so your factory 1.50 rockers might really be a mix of 1.46 and 1.48 and 1.45 and 1.55 and 1.50 and 1.44 - all that irregularity doesn't help power.

The 1.52's are an exact 1.52- so a power gain would be mild... you're mainly getting your increase from all rockers having the same ratio. The 1.6's will be the ones to give you more valve lift...

...and that's where I'll stop. I plan on using 1.52's on my motor, but I know some guys here have experience with the 1.60's.

is it true that you can actually lose power if you move to 1.6 rockers? what about if you add a cam along with the 1.6's? i wanna put some rockers on my car since they're easier than a cam but more power suposedly than anything else that i havnt already added. aight payce

Go with 1.52 roler tips... More accurate, and with the stock cam you will notice a gain. My buddy did 1.6's in his 2.8 and lost power.. He than had to add new valve springs and still it was crappy, but beter.. Now he is looking in to the cam all because of the wrong size.....

Tell him to find a 3.4 cam from a FWD application.
It's designed by Crane for GM
