would this nitrous work?

at work, they have an NOS kit for 2.8 TBI applications, now as my understanding, someone told me i dont really need to run the lines to the intake manifold, but inline somewhere after the maf and before the TB so just to get into the intake? Is that correct? Its cheap and i get free fills, so it seems like a good option for me

ok you now the screw in nozzels thay sell. Well you quessed it tap and a drilled hole in the throttle body. Or if you want to make a 2 inch long pipe feeder to the throttle body you can put it there. But yes after the MAF and before the throttle body.

ok..hmm interesting. I might do that, except drill into the little air box crap that firebirds have in the front like a collector or some crap. That feeds right to the TB.. get a 150 nos kit, run a 50 nozzle

Coming for my v6:
Panhard Bar, 4thgen front seats, Nitrous, Line Lock, and ram air 2 hood

That's the advantage of a "dry" nitrous system- it injects nitrous, and uses your injectors for extra fuel.

"wet" systems (like NX, "Nitrous Express") inject both fuel and nitrous at the throttle body.

Graeme, isn't there an NOS kit for 2.8 MPFI applications? Or, are the TBI and MPFI kits the same?

This past Friday at Bob's Big Boy, I saw what Graeme MAY be speaking of.
IN FRONT of the TB, into the AIR BOX of a 1997 Camaro All Aluminum LS1. 12 second car.
It was a work of art.
Two lines into air box, done.

Will you be selling the car, before you attack the engine with Nitrous or after?

A FEW WORDS. DO YOUR REBUILD BEFORE NOS!. You want to make sure your motor is in top shape before the nitro.

And no TBI and MPFI nos kits are not the same. The TBI will use the b asic plate like a carb will. MPFI for the best results requires individual injectors of NITRO into the ports.

Just FYI.

Three things you need for any nitrous system (NOS, NX, whatever):

1. Good ignition system
2. Good fuel system
3. Good compression (and/or leakdown) test numbers = good piston ring sealing

Graeme states it very well.
I'm so pleased with my combo & swap.
And LOWER insurance & gas bills, too!
Also better tire wear.
Why?
Less weight up front!!
