Cherry Bomb

anyone out there running a maremont cherry bomb muffler? my original one just got a big *** hole in it, cause there are some morons repaving route 1, and when i pulled into my bank i bottomed out, scraped the floor pan, and put a nice hole in my muffler. so i need a new one on a tiny budget, and cherry bombs are only $20. how good would a glasspack even sound on a 2.8, anyway?

on my lasat car, 3cyl. firefly, similar to a metro, it had a cherry bomb and it was... well different, it gave it a louder, lower pitched sound. As for now I'm running a Vortec Cherrybomb, which some people come up to me asking if iI have a 305 or 350, when its only a 2.8 . I was told basically the only diference is that the vortec cherrybomb has enough backpressure at higher RPM's that it becomes a straight pipe.

Let me know what you decide with and what just the regular cherrybomb sounds like

I got my Vortec Cherrybomb at a local garage, here in Canada, are you south of the border? and the complete catback system was around $400 can. which included stainless steel tubing, the muffler and installation. however I think just the muffler was around $125can. Oh it sounds throaty at idle and lower RPM's and when you rev it, then it sounds like a 6 cyl agian

A friend had dual cherry bombs(glass packs) on his 93 GMC Sanoma! It sounded cool as hell. But I don't think you would want that sound in a F-body.
I'm certain we all know what a "jake brake" sounds like on a semi, right?Well, when he would let off the gas it sounded alot like that.I could hear him about 4 blocks away
If money is the issue and you want that loud fircracker sound then I say go for it!

A Dynomax super turbo muffler will run you $30... I'd put that one over a cherrybomb any day. Those cheap Cherrybombs are just loud...

I had one on my 2.8 Litre Supra and it sounded very nice, not too loud, but gave nice noises at WOT.
