V6 tach v8 tach Difference?????????

could i hook up a v8 tach to my v6???

From: First one out of liberty city, burn it to the ground
there would be 2 pulses missing from the tach so i dont think it would

haha im sorry it hooked up fine. with no problems except i replaces the whole cluster. now i dont ahve internal lighs. can n e one help?

Well...last time ill help u for sure. BTW, ask other boards. They'll tell u the same thing i did. Especially go ask the electronics board moderator.

It will hook up but your rpm's might be off.

Here's the answer you may want, but not want to hear.
I went thru this detail with my soon to be done guage swap.
WHAT I HAD TO DO, TO MAKE MY TACH READ CORRECT, is go get another guage package, specifically for the V-6 application. Then allit was was swap of three 1/4" nuts, swap tach circuit boards then I was done with my V-8 to V-6 tach conversion.
NOW, ask me about swapping internal guts of the V-8 oil pressure gauge for the V-6 oil pressure gauge.

Yep, they're different, too!

I wonder what the funny answer responses could have been?
