Burnout......

Hey when ever i do a burnout on my camaro for some reason the rear passenger side tire seems to smoke and on the other hand the driver side tire doesnt seem to smoke at all. One day I got out of my car and I looked at the tire tracks and apparently only the passenger side tires were apparent on the cement and no marks were left from the rear drivers side tire. Would you guys happen to know what might cause this problem?I have also inflated both rear tires to 35 PSI each as well same thing with the front ones, thanks!

If only the passenger side tires were on the cement then you'd be leaving no marks at all, not even moving as a matter of fact.
I have a feeling this is gonna be a funny thread.

C'mon guys don't be dicks. You all didn't know this stuff from birth.
Cal most cheap standard axles will only ever spin one wheel. The one with the least traction. You need a different (more expensive) type that will spin both. Usually called a posi (Posi-traction) or maybe a locker.

Re: Burnout......

You could try junk yards and look for one of a higher performance V8 3rd. gen. However, the V6 doesn't really have the torque to spin both wheels on a dry road. You'd need wet/snow/gravel or such or something to break the wheels free to start them spinning. Or very narrow hard tires. But you may be in for some disappointment in the burn out department.

You can find them in junkyards off the right car, or in the For Sale section here.

My V6 has more than enough power to spin both wheels if I want it to.

Mine can make the car disappear in smoke, like this

Someone told me "only one tire was spinning."

Oh well, it still looked bad-***. I had to hold the brakes, though...............................

I don't think most people call one wheel breaktorques "bad-***."

Fortunatley I don't have to worry about that

Re: Burnout......

and yes it spins like its rainging out on dry ground, ud think its a v8 smoke everywher power brake into a sideways burnout, wont do it unless i power brake it first, if i just floor it im lucky if it chirps one side, 90% of the time if i am to power brake it it spins both sides

Im glad you mentioned this. i once did the "Stand on the brake pedal and work into it" by revvign up ~2 times, then just keeping gas floored when brake was on.. cloud of smoke, and it appeared to be ONE tire mark. (My co-workers had never seen that. It took some jerk that owes me money to say "That other tire didnt say nothin." lol. Well he only saw that one. Earned myself a "Reckless Driving" ticket doing that too. I hope i dont go to jail. For real.)

Perhaps i just did it wrong, because there was another time when i did that, and left TWO streaks.

Of course, my Trans was overfull on ATF and im actually a little bit scared to "drop the pan." Changed some ATF its at its right level now... but, when raining, it will spin baby spinnnn... and once or twie just by "punching the gas" while in my parkign lot, once completely by accident, i spun both tires for a few seconds, very bad-***

Question.. does high rear tire pressure ~35psi or LOW help the burn-outs? Also, the differential fluid level comes to mind, mine hasnt been touched forever........

Re: Burnout......

You should try revving it way up and putting it in gear. It's called a 'neutral bomb'. And get a video of it so we can laugh at you.

and any day on dry ground, it already in gear if i hold the brake and floor it to power brake it it just brakes loose and spins both tires very easily, great smoke show
