Hedman Headers for 2.8

I called Hedman today and they said that made the 2.8 headers for f-bods 'til about 96. They said that they MAY do a run of 100 if there is enough interest.

They said the price might be from $150-200/set. (I was told this is only a rough estimate) It costs them a bunch to start production so they need to see some interest first.

Fax request to Ken Van der Giff, Operations Manager at
562-693-0622.

This info is per Jim (Headman R&D) at 562-693-2323.

Dale

Do you know if they would fit the 3.1L correctly? or if there would be any slight differences in anything such as clearences, bolt pattern, etc.?

All I know is that they should be the same as the ones they made for the 2.8 previously.

I would bet that they will bolt up, but whether the routing is the same I don't know.

Note to self: Scream at the top of my lungs sometime that THE 2.8 AND 3.1 ARE I-FRICKING-DENTICAL!!!!!!

Seriously though, they are, externally, to the micron, the same, so anything that fits on a 2.8 WILL fit on a 3.1 and vice versa with NO modifications.

Thanks RenoLB8, I just wanted to check with others. I recently purchased my car and I'm still in the learning process about F-bodies.

1992 "Dark Bright Teal Metallic" Firebird, 3.1 V6, T-tops, power everything
Modifications:
none yet due to money
Future mods:
180 Thermostat, Cold Ram air intake in place of the fog lights, Throttle Body coolant bypass.

He had to have been talking about V6's.
{not that I don't want a V8, I just can't afford one.}

I have been building a 3.1L for the past 5 or 6 months now and it is extremely troubling to me that there is no market for the 2.8 and 3.1L firebird/camaro's. I am not understanding it. Shoulda seen how hard it was to get forged pistons in the compression ratio i wanted. That was pulling teeth. Anyways i am in if this is gonna go thru, my fax gets sent tomorrow. How do we come together and write the major manufactures of performance parts and ask/demand parts?

In order for them to build these headers they need to get faxes from A LOT of people to show that there is a market for these headers.

No Faxes = No Headers

Just FYI,

I heard you can modify 2.8 s-10 headers to fit our f-body cars. Anyways check this out

Those are thick a$$ custom 2.8 headers made by Steve Hamm, contact him at oneqik6@mailcity.com.

You guys need to visit this site:http://members.aol.com/_ht_a/gpxss/index2.html

It's where I get most of my info and any Q's you just e-mail the site owner, he's pretty cool.

OK the Steve Hamm headers run about $650. I don't know about you guys but I'll look into getting a set of S-10 headers working.
