ATTN: Tom P, or anyone who has an Accel coil

Tom,

Thanks again for the info on the coil...I'm going to Auto Zone tomorrow to order it! One question I have is, do you know if this is the coil that comes with the 300+ box/coil kits? I have a downloaded Accel catalog at home, and it says nothing about the coil that comes with the 300+ box...it does however say the regular Super Coil is designed to work with the 300+.

So what I'm planning on doing (while I know its more expensive overall this way) is to do the coil this weekend and the box next spring. I am assuming Accel only makes 1 grade of coils? How much difference can I expect at this point with a fresh tuneup? I want part # 14001, right? Thanks again to Tom and anyone else that can help me out!!

BTW Tom, good luck at the track if you're going bacl tonight!!

AutoZone? Why not order it through Summit Racing? $39.95, $6 handling, free shipping- and 2-3 days shipping time! Oh I think you made a typo but that GM coil is 140011, not 14001

The super coils vary a bit by power consumption and output, check out that accel PDF catalog file for the exact specs.

Which Accel 300+ box would you buy? The Accel catalog file (page 10 on the slider, page 9 on the catalog's center bottom of the page) says that the system can come with a #140019 matched coil. Seems 140019 is a "race only" coil, that would mean it would get very hot very fast on the street. Shoot Accel an e-mail to see what they think.

Oh, and thanks! If it doesn't start raining again, I'm going!
