What? The rear wheels still power the car. In drive, or reverse.

I don't recall if it was K-slice or not(I think it was?) but someone said that to a guy at a dyno shop and they actually put the car on the dyno facing the wrong way /facepalm, anyone that doesn't know an f-body is RWD doesn't belong in, or anywhere near a dyno shop....

Well, by that logic, an FWD car in reverse would be an RWD car... One would still have way less weight over the drive wheels than the other.

What about a Porsche???

ha, this thread is funny...

But in all seriousness I really tried doing the V6 F body thing - but they are just soooo slow - and it takes so much cash to make them fast. And even still, you just barely keep up with V8 cars (again, there are exceptions but it gets PRICEY). They don't even feel like sports cars, and this was a tuned 3800 4th gen. I can't imagine how boring it is to cruise around in a 2.8 or 3.1 3rd gen..... As a DD, sure thats fine - but everyone wants to make them fast and it makes no sense!! Just my 0.02

And a 4th gen weighs how much more than a 3rd? There's your answer right there... The 60 HP more out of the 3800 is more than made up for by the weight difference, especially in a gen1/gen3 60* V6 hybrid... 4th gens are just ugly pigs, period.

There is a certain movie where a certain model of car that looks to be a 70s car, when the guy hits the gas, the front wheels burn out and this is inaccurate.

I do not believe it was a Camaro and its very confusing because its one of the weirdest movie things ive ever seen.

Only other explanation is that it was a Toronado and i dont think it was since you too are probably saying "How is that possible."

I think it was a blue car

does anyone know the movie i am talking about? And it may or may not have been a Steven Seagal 80s movie

Dude, I hear ya and all? .. but without having actually ever DROVE my car except for going 35MPH in a parking lot, i can tell you my 2,8L V6 has a torquey feel a lot like my 2.7L I6 BMW I had. Torque. Not "speed' maybe and the trans shifts nice when it warms up.

Hope this helps.

Maybe i will realize i have the "Slowest Camaro ever made" when i hit the road, but im sure i could dust a 2.5L Iron Duke camaro.. actually maybe not, that engine is nice i had it in a 1991 car.

Who wants to race once i get my gas fixed // 2.8L V6 vs 2.5L Iron Duke 4 vs a 3100 V6 Lumina vs 3800 Buick (not Pontiac Grand Prix Gen III 3800, that would win the race) .. followed by the Iron Duke car... 3.1L Lumina in last place...

Re: V6 Guys need opinions

The V6's do have torque, something I really like about them. I've never found mine to be a boring drive, if I only drove in a straight line then maybe, but i dunno...
I do think having the 3.1 helps though, I mean, the extra displacement only added 5 horses, but also made 20 more lb feet! That's no pocket change.
