Oil pressure gauge is pegged straight up.
Well this is the next thing on my repair list, to fix my oil pressure gauge. Is there any way to tell if it's the sensor or the gauge? It stays straight up no matter what.

probably the sending unit, they are only like $10-20, plus you could just take it back if its not that. although, is it straight up with the car completely off? if so it might be the gauge..

Is there a way to fix the gauge or should I just pick up the tach and oil pressure gauge set up at the junkyard?

no clue, but wait for someone else to chime in before buying anything, it could even just be loose...

when the sensor wire to the gauge is broken, it pegs, when its grounded, it drops to 0.
ground that wire manually, such as unplugging it from your oil pressure sensor and grounding it with a piece of wire.

I tried grounding it and it stayed the same.

Yeah its the sensor by the oil filter with one wire going to it right?

Re: Oil pressure gauge is pegged straight up.
yea, with ignition key on, if you ground that wire running to the sensor and its not fluctuating the gauge, then the issue is not the sensor, but either a broken connection somewhere between the wire and the gauge, or the gauge itself.
