connecting rod
I spun a connecting rod bearing in my 92 Firebird and I need to know where I can get a rod. I've looked on rock auto, advance auto parts, everywhere and I cannot find one. I've looked on summit racing and cannot find one. Any help would be appreciated.

I think those rods are all to wide to fit on the 60* V6 rod-pin. Those 90* V6 rods, which happen to be the same as small block chevy rods, would have to be ground down to work...
Your best bet is to probably just have your current rod rehoned, and put a larger bearing in there. Did you screw up the crank any?

My mistake, I didn't realize it was giving me 90 degree rods. I'm surprised there's nothing aftermarket, but resizing the rod is the only option then.

I haven't gotten it taken apart yet. This just happened last night. I was coming down the road and just came down off about 3.5K RPM and I heard a bad tick in the valve train. I pulled over and checked my oil and everything and it was good. So I drove it home, by the time I got home the tick was now very faint, but there was a slight knock in the back of the motor. You could barely hear it. I'm hoping that the bearing just spun and didn't score my crank but I'm not sure yet. I guess this is a perfect time to go ***** deep in my V6 and get everything I possibly can to beef it up.

B+P connecting rods is a rod reman company they may have some. I don't know how to get in touch with them directly, but you can probably google it.

I, also, have a complete rotating assembly that I'm not using. It's a 2.8L, but the rods and crank can be used in your application...

I found another engine for free out of a Rodeo. It runs and everything, but I'm gonna tear it down and rebuild it so I don't run into the same issues as before. The engine that I just spun a rod bearing in was supposedly a good motor. It ran fine for a month after I got it in my car and spun a bearing. Mind you, I took care of it too. Changed the oil 3 times, every 400 miles, and never ran it above 4K RPM.

Question.
I'm thinking about doing a project build, and was curious if I could take the crank shaft out of a '01 3400 (NOT DOHC) and put in my 3.1L block? If so, can I put a crank sensor on the 3.1L block and make it work with the trigger wheel on the 3400 crank easily to set up for a 3400 top end and DIS?

Hmmm...I was told that the only difference between the 2.8L and 3.1L rotating assemblies were the pistons, and that the crank and rods were the same. Guess that doesn't make much sense now that I think about it. Wouldn't be the first time I got bad info...
You could still use the 2.8L rotating assembly, but you'd definitely have a 2.8L instead of your 3.1L...
About putting the 3400 crank into the 3.1L block and installing an internal sensor, which is what I'm guessing you're trying to do, to use the 3400's DIS reluctor wheel, I asked about this before. I was told that it was damn near impossible, but that you could do it with a 3.4L V6 out of a 4th-Gen Camaro/Firebird because it already had the internal DIS. I think you'd have to modify the 3400 crank to the 7X reluctor style, though.
I, personally, am going to be using a modified 3500 forged crank in a turbocharged 3.4L V6 to go into my '90 Camaro...funds allowing...UGH.

Oh, and if you meant putting an external crank trigger wheel on the engine, instead of the internal DIS, that, from what I understand, is far more feasible...

My main question is does the '01 3400 share the same crank with the 92 3100 other than the reluctor wheel? Basically, will the 3400 rotating assembly (other than pistons) work in the 3100?
