Re: Hey
You talking "all-out-race" seats? Or just some better bucket seats?
If you're just looking for a better seat, I really like the 4th-Gen bucket-seats that are going to go in mine.
If you're looking more for the prior, check out some of the Scat-ProCar seats on summit. They're priced very reasonably...

Re: Hey
I've been good lol, the seats came today, looking mighty fine I might add. I'll probably ask them for a refund on the 3 point harness and get a 4 point, because I accidently bought a 3 point bolt-in, when I wanted the snap in, and looking at it, the 4 point looks better imo.
In any case, I was wondering, when I'm swapping from an automatic to a manual what do I need to make the speedometer and tach, etc. work? For the record, my previous cluster had no tach and was the 85mph one, I'm getting the 145mph 7krpm cluster now.

Re: Hey
Speedometer I think manuals work the same way, but not sure, if they do, it just needs to be cable driven, tachometer should work the moment you plug it in, just make sure you get a v6 one, oil pressure gauge should be 40/80 and redline should be 6k.
I'm stuck with a tach that probably won't work and is clearly from a v8 car, but was listed as a v6 cluster on ebay, pretty POed especially since he hasn't offered a viable solution, not spending money to ship it back and have NO cluster, but I know wtf im talking about, and while he says its from a v6 car I know for a fact it isn't, and he also said it worked with the v6 in there, and they swapped to a v8 and it still worked fine, very much doubt that.......

Re: Hey
You need to find a 7 tooth (purple) speedo drive gear (on the T5 output shaft) and either an 18 or 19 tooth (IIRC, the one I have is 19T white) speedo cable driven gear. Both found on thegearbox.org. Your gears are easier to find than the ones that are used with the electronic speedo VSS...
Tach must be from a V6, and even then it may not be wired. 3rd gen, there is a thread floating around somewhere, in the Electronics forum, I think, that shows which capacitor needs to be replaced to turn a V8 tach to a V6, and the other way around.

Re: Hey
Hm from what I saw in my searching, the only thing that was addressed is turning a v6 tach into a v8...
You know what, let me make this a million times easier. Will this cluster work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...#ht_500wt_1182
I see the redline is 5000rpm, I don't see the oil pressure gauge, and the guy says its out of a z28(thus an 8).

Re: Hey
Yes, but it's the reverse to go from the V8 to the V6. Key word in that eBay auction is "Z28"... It's a V8 cluster.

Re: Hey
Haha maverick I know that man! To be much more clear, the thread doesn't clarify the part number that's for the v6 resistor. Or even what it is.
As for the cluster I see that, and with what we've learned this means I can use it as long as I get the proper resistor and change what you said before for the speedometer?

Re: Hey
I'll do some searching... The thread I'm thinking of has pics.
:edit: Didn't find anything yet... But I know it was a capacitor needing to be changed and not a resistor block...
